there's real core people, it's not like being a hippie is dead, it will always live in on spirit and mind. But, it's cool to be a hippie right now, and though that makes no difference to a real hippie, it sucks seeing these kids get their fashions that the mall shit out for them and start to give all the culture a bad vibe.

My guess is that those kids don't really know their history very well, and as you said the real ones don't really care about them. with some kids, though, it's all about the fashion, and nothing else. It's "cool" to dress in flowery dresses and to wear handmade stuff, but really it's just form without content. If, say, shaving your head would be in tomorrow, they'd probably all invade the hairdresser's...

Maybe so, but you can't deny that they are some who truly believe in the actual philosophy of the movement? You and Kyrara-Ruxandra are focusing just on the fashion aspect of it. What about the music? The philosophy? The lifestyle? The community? There may be some who are interested in this only as a fashion trend, but don't label us all as such. I can't make the claim of being a true hippie yet, but I can certainly aspire to be.

Don't claim open-mindedness and then turn people away. :peace:

    that's their point..
the people in it for the fashion. so you're being a bit redundant.

^ no denying the real hippies their credit, or saying it's a dead movement. and yeah maybe i was stuck a bit on fashion just because it's the easiest first impression to judge. but most hippies down with the philosophies are cool as hell, some are a bit condescending but it's all good.

I'm 19, and the people who moulded me into who impacted my life and made me who I am today are:

John Lennon - Typical, I mean whos life did this man not change? :)
Jim Morrison - A genious in his own way, I hope to grow up to become half the man he was.
Hunter S. Thompson - I love his writing and a lot of his views on the world, Fear and Loathing Las vegas is also one of my top movies.
My father - My dad is a peace loving veterenarian, he meditates 3 hours a day and goes on meditation retreats on his holidays, he studies Buddhism on a regular basis, and he's got great taste in music.

Ever since I was young i've had a love for animals and nature. I don't let ANYONE kill or hurt ANYTHING when i'm around, even fruit flies are safe when i'm around. I've always had a LOT of pets and spend a lot of my time caring for them and making sure they have the best life possible. I've always been the person to try to put a smile on peoples face, whatever it takes. My friends all know me for someone who doesn't get mad, regardless of the situation. I don't see a reason for getting angry, slamming doors, hurting people or any of that. I believe that if something bad happens, it's already been done and will not be reversed so there's no need to get angry that accomplishes absolutely nothing, smile and live on. Another huge impact on my life has been the use of hallucinogens and other mind altering drugs. There's not one thing in this world I enjoy more than sitting in a field with nothing but my best friends and the sounds of nature guiding me through an acid trip. I could go on for hours, but i'll stop here. :)

    Peace&love.

Just another Flamer on the forum space who never really has anything to say.

We will never get use to you and we don't have to either. Free choice.
    Miss spelled use, used.

Haha glad to see there's some friendly people here. I guess every forum has its flamers, I was just unfortunate enough to run into one within 5 minutes on it. Thank you. :)

By "Flamer" I don't think he's trying to be "anti-gay". I certainly wasn't, i'm pretty sure a "Flamer" is also someone who comes on forums to put people down for a false sense of achievement. (You)

I am just starting to get introduced to the thing that there is a new teen hippie thing going on and from what I see of it it's pretty cool. I'm glad that it's going on.

Means that there is hope for the future. I'm guessing.

As for fashion, I always say, "The clothes don't make the man. The man makes the clothes." In other words can you pull it off. Who are you?

LOL That's funny. That's what the caterpillar said. "Who are you?"

Anyway, I hope that you catch my drift here.

As for fashion, I now officially laugh my --s off.

I actually went to TargetĀ® for a prescription last week and then went to the men's wear department to get some swim trunks.

While I was there I started checking out the printed t-shirts.
Who knew? 60s rock shirts! Now my generation is really getting ripped off. First all of the 60s music in all of the TV commercials. Now TargetĀ®.

So, I brought home a Jefferson Airplane t-shirt with The Family Dog logo on it. Too much. LOL

I still have a Family Dog t-shirt from working at "The First Tribal Stomp" in Berkeley, Ca. Laugh.

Think what you want about me, I know who I am and that's who i'll be. If in your opinion that makes me an "Epic Douchebag" well so be it, you're entitled to your opinion. I'm almost positive that a "Flamer" is an acceptable word for "one who flames". I don't want to argue with you, so i'll let you do your thing. From what I know about you (Not much) you seem to be one of those internet tough guys and if that's what it takes to make you happy, be my guest. :)

I think that you have to do something like twenty posts before your status changes from "guest". After that you can friend and do other things.

So, glad to see there's a teen thing happening here. Rock It.

I'm out of here cause I'm not a teen. Bye. Only in the way that I act.
