My mom was a total Deadhead, moved out Californiway to follow the Dead on tour. She has introduced me to all sorts of music, tattoos, and the lifestyle.

I hang around with anyone who's nice. Mean people cramp my style. It doesn't matter what "group" you're in as long as you're fun to be with.

And I'm sure it'll last. My mom is taking me this summer to get matching tattoos of the Terrapin Station turtle. :) She's fuckin' rad.

Who really impacted your life to mold you into a hippy?
I don't really like labels, but I have views that match under a lot of hippy ones. Hitch hikers definitely inspired these views. I love talking to them and hearing their stories and hitch-hiking myself, it is absolutely eye opening and thrilling. Christopher McCandless' story also inspired me a lot and changed my views on things.

How do your friends treat you, and who do you hang around with?
Well, my old friends didn't really dig my views, so I simply separated myself from them and said my goodbyes kindly, and moved on and found people that shared the same views as me.

    Do you think it'll last?
Of course. Peace and love always.

The person who really impacted me to become a hippy was my ma :) She took me to concerts and hippy fests and I loved it. Also, the band Kan'Nal inspired me to be who I am today.
My friends have long hair and share the same ideals with me. The guys I'm friends with are kinda metal head-ish, but still totally cool. Girls are down-to-earth and loving :)
I think it will last because it's who I am, not what I am.

My mom also formulated me. She grew up with all of it, in Madison, Wi (very liberal city), and gave me a lot of her old shit, clothes she made, etc. Fun stuff!

    Who inspired me?
one day i decided i was going to change..i started looking up hendrix, lennon..the usic is what inspired me really. its something i can feel and i just understand that this is who i want to be. i feel completely natural with myself
    My friends?
Some think its great, and we can share wuts really going on in our minds..others dont really take note of it or ask any questions. they just let me blend (which is pretty hard haha) and then there are those who interrogate me and ask me questions about my lifestyle (barefeet, how society reacts to me, ect.) everyones different man:)
    Will it last?
Who knows? people change all the time but i feel as if this is where i am supposed to be..i feel like i will only go deeper into the culture as i get older and can be on my own. so i dont see myself going backwards, but forwards and im excited to see what the future has in store for me and those who follow

may the hip force be with you:D
    peace

No one person ever inspired me. I guess I was always against materialism and following fashion trends so I would always wear thrift shop clothing, torn jeans and beach shorts year round. I've always refused to wear shoes so people just started calling me "beach bum" or "dirty hippie" wherever I would go. When I started school, I didn't even own a pair of shoes so everyone assumed I was this "hippie dude". Since I already loved hippie music I started hanging out with other hippies who would accept me into their world and soon I just became one of them.

As far as growing out of it, I did at one point. I met a girl before I started college. She was a "preppy" and because she was beautiful she sucked me right into her lifestlye. But it was short-lived. One day I woke up and smelled the coffee and thought "what the F*^K am I doing? After we broke up, I donated all my preppy shit to charity and went back to being a dirty barefoot hippie. That's the way I want to stay.

    Peace everyone!!

    K. Well I really think Muck Sticky, Bob Marley, people like that inspired me to be a hippie. I mean I want to live life to the fullest and be happy. I dont want any negativity or anything. Its all about the peace and love. Life is what you make it and this is how I want to live mine.

Im friends with some hippies. I have more scene and stoner friends than anything, and there is a difference between a stoner and a hippie, ya know?

I think Ill be a hippie forever. This is my way of life. The way I want to live and the way I would want everyone to.

I'm not a hippie. I just joined here to communicate with nice, decent people. Although I did describe myself to someone many years ago as a "frustrated hippie".

Who really impacted your life to mold you into a hippy?
Hm, no one, really. No one in my family. None of my friends...I guess I was just drawn to it. Young idealist that I am ;).

How do your friends treat you, and who do you hang around with?
I hang with all types of people. I get along with whoever, and they are all good to me.

    Do you think it'll last?
It is a mindset, a personality trait. Not much you can do to change it. You can always change your outer appearance, but not that spirit...

Who really impacted your life to mold you into a hippy?

i've always had the hippy, kind of, i dont know, "way". Every since a young age, my parents said it was too bad I hadn't been born in the 60s. My dad would listen to moonshadow by cat stevens , and that song always really made me relax, and develop a calm personality. Dad also passed down his love of music, especially from his time, down to me. (he's like 50. haha) but Jim Morrsion was the one who made me awknowledge it. His poems, mainly, and how in order to get some of them, I had to experiment with different ways to "expand my mind" :)

How do your friends treat you, and who do you hang around with?

I don't really have great friends, their kind of popular and fake, but it's who I grew up with. I do have about 3 or 4 really close people who get me, I guess. I also hang around a few more hippys like me, although most of them are graduated, so its hard to see them everyday. They accept me, and are real, genuine people, and I love them so :) Along with my best friend, who I will always love, and will always love me.

    Do you think it'll last?

it's my personality. always has been, don't see it changing in the near future.

well. i really discovered IT when i became homeless. the county condemned my house and took my siblings to foster care. they told me (being 17 at the time) that they could not place me anywhere. so there i was barely 17 and homeless jobless carless! i had been sneaking into that condemned house that was once a home and sleeping in there.... until one day.. This guy (Dankel) came in and told me to get in his truck... i didnt really know him that well tho i had met him several times b4 and i already knew his wife who i had been hangin out with for quite awhile... he took me to his house and put me up for the winter... he showed me this crowd and this music!. and WOW... i thought to myself i love these ppl. i had been this person, one like them, all along... i just didnt see it b4.

my friends are grate. i love them all.. a few of them were a part of this crowd and i didnt know until i had gotten on board.

My brother got me to become a hippy then I started to hang out with more open minded people. I hang with couple of different groups friends but all of my friends are friends with each other. My friends treat me with respect and I do the same. I hang around with many varieties of people. Some of my friend moved down to Kamloops for three months and will be coming back to tree plant in the summer, and I really hope that this will last.

My ma and pa made me the way I am today, taking me to stoner hippie festivals constantly all my life! I spent the whole of my childhood (well I'm still in my childhood, so I guess my early childhood) living in squats, ti pi tents and on the river. Everyone I was around were either high on drugs or high on life.. or both! But now my life has gotten boring, I live in a normal house in a normal neighborhood.

I have a few close friends but none are really anything like me, there are no people who I can relate to who are my age. No hippies. Hehe!

Course it'll last, once a hippie, always a hippie!

    Peace & Love Georgia x
