1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

Genius. I wonder if you could say that Cage plagiarised any of the following with 4:33:

    Beethoven's 10th
    Haydn 105
    Mozart 41
    Shostakovich 16
    Tchaik 7
    Prokofiev 8
Brahms 5 (not counting the Schoenberg orchestration of his Piano quartet that is essentially Brahms 5).

John Cage was an idiot anyway. I've got no time for him.

I don't know how you can say Tchaik was the greatest composer ever. But he did write one of my favourite symphonies. His 4th that is. And he definitely had a talent for orchestration, like Stravinsky, where you just know a piece had to have been written by him. The 1812 overture is just stupid though.
