between joey and me. we did alright. we took advantage of it while we had the chance. next year it wont be as much b/c im not working the rest of the year after i get chaptered out of the army.
Well, actually, only in Québec . Thank you to good old autocratic Maurice Duplessis in the 50's .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurice_Duplessis But, i don't think you get more money here ... And i can't wait to hear my dad swear when he's doing his taxes ...
I know. But I wish I was a Canadian, sometimes... And no, I really don't think it matters either way... it's no incentive to move to a different country. Andddd... I don't understand why people do that. You should be able to do your own taxes pretty easily if you don't own more than one or two parcels of land/houses or stock, etc... and capital gains BS. Simplest way to multitask some cash and travel (if you have the job capability, etc.) is to just fix up a house on the side every three years. E-Filing is a pain to do sometimes (because the software doesn't always work right on one e-file client I used) but I like not having to put up with the post office, these days. Otherwise, if I had land and massive amounts of stock, I'd probably just go to Hewitt Jackson or H&R. I have a capital growth fund with A.G. Edwards and I have a few specified shares of certain biotechnology companies and some in Berkshire Hathaway, c/o my fahjah. I bought my first shares when I was 14, as did Warren Buffett, himself...
That's not what I want. They're just blue-chip securities, for now... and if I was a rich cat, I surely wouldn't keep all of the money, I'd establish businesses and charities and just keep dividing and seeing a return in both profit and humanitarian aid, continue to do that for awhile, while putting certain trustees in helm and mate positions... only a few, though, as you can't trust everyone to do your job and if you want it done best, the only way to do it is to do it yourself... eventually, profit will provide for more humanitarian effort and certain people see the light and will aid you in return. But, you must first improve yourself to improve society.
Dunno. 75 bucks every three months isn't really a tax refund. I've never understood these things tho.
Nah, I was referring to Quebec. I've never understand y'all and GST either. Sometimes your tax laws leave me clueless.
i don't understand it either, thats pretty much why i haven't flied my taxes yet..i kinda hope my folk's accountant does that for me all i understand is a cheque with my name on it
GST is a generale sales tax though. You pay it whenever you buy anything. 6.5%. Doesn't apply to things such as groceries and rent though. But then when you turn 19 they just randomly start mailing you a check for 75 bucks ever 3 or 4 months. i have no idea why.
We're taxed 4.5 percent... but our state/commonwealth takes care of that. I've never really considered what it would be like to have a federal sales tax. Unless we already do, atop others, and I just haven't been exposed to it.
