If it hurts when you pull it out, then you're using too high of an absorbency. Light or junior tampons are great-but I've found that for the lat day or so of my period, the flow is so light that I can just use pantyliners.

I can't believe I am sharing this! But it's so funny, and what good is life if you can't laugh at yourself?? So here it goes. I woke up for school one morning, and was very out of it very very tired. I put a new tampon in. I was so jumbled and confused, by the time I had to leave for school, I thought I forgot a tampon... I failed to notice the string from the first one, and put two in!! lmao. I felt smart. Later when I went to use the bathroom I had figured it out, I was wondering why it felt a little uncomfortable down there!

No, you're not supposed to feel the tampon while it's in. It shouldn't hurt going in either, unless you have a very tight hymen. If you're not a virgin, there's no reason a tampon should hurt going in. It's probably not far high up enough (I do hope you did remove the applicator, I've heard of girls forgetting to do so). Try again when you need to change it.

When you put the applicator in, you hold it at the mid-point...where the plunger-part starts. You need to insert it far enough until your fingers touch your body, then push the plunger part. I personally use OB, the kind w/o the applicator. It's easier to control how far you insert it, and there is less garbage.
