Talking to yourself

    i don't just talk to myself, i converse with myself. i have great arguments with myself, too. i'm the only one here who understands what i'm saying. living with no one but a 2 year old is like living with a little chinese person who never took english.

    I do that too, but I'm a playwright. It's part of the job description.

    if i were more creative, i'd probably do the same. i did write a couple little skits in high schoool that were very well received, but i think my talents lay more in the deconstruction of works, taking them apart and examining them. i don't build the bike, i take it apart to look appreciate the pieces.

    I do a lot of deconstruction in my work. I sometimes take apart old plays or stories and once I've figured out how they work, I reconstruct them and mix in other complimentary stuff. You can find/make whole new meanings in art by juxtaposing different pieces into new relationships with each other. I did that with a play recently using a bunch of Edgar Allen Poe works. It really came out well. I'll be producing it with my theatre company in about a year.

    I have the inner conversations. Never verbally conversing just thinking.
