absolutely. rather than dicking with Iraq's affairs, pursuing their oil and setting up KFCs over there, I think we should focus on our own domestic issues, and seriously develop new energy sources, rather than just flirting with the issue in special sessions. We need to stop with the "witch hunt", because we're no closer to finding Bin Laden, or his cohorts who are supposedly behind 9/11; instead, we're playing "standing army" in Iraq (the us military is trained for invasion, not to be a standing army...that's why they're so susceptible to surprise attacks); develop our own military? fine..it's already happening..but this "war" (it's not even a REAL WAR) is just a distraction, there's no justifying it. I've already said it, and I'll say it again: it's just a big capitalistic game, where the stakes are money, and power. substitute "democracy" with "capitalism", everytime you hear Bush speak. how's this for history? http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchive/NSAEBB82/ apparently, history does repeat itself... our gov't funds and supports foreign regimes, uses media to paint them as bad guys, then spends more money to remove them from power.
Capitalism IS freedom for the individual. By spreading democracy and capitalism hand-in-hand is the ONLY way this world can truely advance, and everyone knows it.
Some could say that it is the oppression of the working man. Just depends on your perspective. peace and love
capitalism and communism are two different things, one is economic system, the other is a political system. you fell right into my trap. go look again. the point of my statement is Bushco doesn't really give a shit about democracy, or else we'd be trying to overthrow Hugo Chavez. China is open to free trade, therefore, a player in the capitalism game; I don't see us trying to coerce them into democracy.
And what is wrong with that?! What is wrong with wanting to defend the American way of life, in which you have the freedom to do whatever you want?! You better bet conservatives have not chenged their strategy. They actually realize that there are true threats in this world, and they are not about to sit back while radical Islam either forces them to convert or die! "Better dead than red" = better life under capitalism than life under Stalinism!
So freedom's all about money, right? Wrong. People all around me are having their freedoms unjustly taken away by a justice system that's nothing but a profit-making business, just the way Ronald Reagan wanted it. I guess I'm supposed to feel warm and fuzzy all over, and the Iraqis are supposed to feel the same way? What an infantile bunch of mush.
lol you are either really ignorant, or a real joker who gets off to spouting absurdities that reflect the scope of a backwoods hillbilly who only has access to Fox News.
I second that. justwow, not trying to bust your chops, just lettin you know that this is not a perfect world, and we're not in the 50's anymore. I know it's nice to think that our gov't is just here to protect us, and it's cozy looking at the world from a fishbowl erspective, but it's just not as simple as that.
Tell that to the people who were wrongly accused of being Communist and lost their jobs. That's why it is called the Red Scare. Imagine what future generations would write about the happenings of now. BTW, China is becoming more Capitalistic but that is not changing their rule of their people. Marx would not argee that it is Communist, by his definition. peace and love
Oh, dont cry for me libs. Feel sorry for yourselves, you dont know how blind you are behind your pathetic hate. What a buch of crap, Bush gives a bigger dam about democracy than anyone here ever will! We cant overthrow that bastard Chavez becuase were busy fighting for our lives in the Middle East. China and Venezuela are both players in capitalism, and we cant stop them from being! They paly our game to put us off a confrontation. They were our masks, but under them they look completely different. But the US is well aware of what an abomination both the Chinese and Venezuelan governments are, and the inevitable will happen someday.
roflcopter. oh man, that's rich. hahahahaha.... *wipes a tear from eye..not because I'm a crying lib, but because that was seriously funny*
Oh, and by the way, you're making yourselves look really good! You really are! Love and peace, indeed.
you ARE just trying to get a rise from us! haha...I almost believed that you really were that deluded! good show. support the troops... mail them fresh jock straps.
Chavez is a legitimately elected president, whether you like him or not. That's what democracy is supposed to be about. He's a 'bastard' because he stands up to the West and Bush. Democratically elected leaders only have legitimacy if Bush agrees with their policies-otherwise they deserve to be overthrown! What a bunch of hypocrisy!
Haha, ya I know. Ha! The United States are the good guys!!! HHAHAHAHha! Come on get angry! Naw, dont get angry. Just agree!
