Support the paid killers. heheh. Yeah, I guess I "support the troops" to an extent that I care for their well-being. They probably should just drop their weapons and come home next time bush tells them to attack a foreign country.
i think they should attack the 5-sided building in Washington, and then invade a certain big complex in Langley. fuck the bureaucracy
well as a past member of the ARMY. i would much rather have myself or a fellow solider traumatised than my children or other peoples children of this country. when some freak crashes a plane into a building and kills a bunch of people just doing a day work. it is the job of the ARMY and the men and women that joined it to follow orders given by the commander in chief.when i joined Ronny raygun was just going out of office and the 1st bush in. we were in the middle of the war on drugs and spent most of our time in centrel and south america. my left knee was crushed for XMAS of 89 and i hold no resentment to the goverment at all. only people i am mad at is the stupid drug users that wont stop using drugs and forced myself and others to fight drugs. and we lost and are still lossing that war. suporting the trops dont start or stop with a yellow ribbon or a sticker on your car, you also have to suport your country and its policies like them or not. you can sure bet that even though people on the right disliked CLINTON and his military actions they did not frown on the troops that carried out those orders. if a country make a decision or policy you dont agree with fix it politically vote them out of office, stop being indefferent your votes do count. but once your country has chosen a direction and path to follow people need to support that choice, like it or not. then next election make your change. military personel are taught that war is bad anybody that wishes for war is a fool, cause people will die. but its sometimes needed. i just wish people would see that its better for men and women that joined the military on their own to fight and die in a war than it is for the war to make it to our streets and towns. then all you anti war people would be getting killed also. and none of us want that. as for islam they say they preach peace. sure they do so long as you agree with them. sounds like the U.S. so whats the problem you people have then? they have a kill the US frame of mind and wont stop till we are all dead. where on the other hand the U.S. has the misguided idea that those people want freedom. sure they do but the base probelm is still there they dont belive any other religion should be on the planet. personally id rather die trying to keep my children safe and growing up with the choice of what relegion to be if any than having one forced on them. in short war is hell, its the worst of mans creations. but to just let attacks go unanswered is insane, and to not support your county is the same as not supporting your troops. it gives the bad guys hope that their actions are being seen by others and gives them fule. to kill more of our sons and daughters. P.S i am 3rd gen ARMY retired booth grand fathers were in 2nd ar WWII my father was ART in NAM my self in Panama and other latin countries and now my own daughter has join the ARMY. and none of us liked killing but felt it our duty to serve the country that is free enough to allow people to disagree with it to flurish. just think what would have happend to the people of Iraq if they had spoken out against its leaders the way people here have spoken out against Bush.
"""""Absolutely not. War should be globally illegal. Unacceptable. Then if there is some one or group of people who are completely out of hand, and need to be stopped, it should be no problem to gain support for sending in a group of specially trained people to arrest and jail the offenders. Just think, what if the gangs in California all started a riot with automatic weapons etc., burning large sections of town, killing anyone who came along, their goal being to take over the whole state. Well, they'd bring in the riot police, and they would be arrested, right? What if some moron in power decided to start bombing California instead? Good idea? HAH!""""""" yeah good idea, and we are there already. the United States armed forces and Allies did you forget the UN = united nations gave the go ahead for the war? as for the riots in cali. if gangs attacked with automatic weapons the riot police would lose and once again the army would be needed probably the GUARD at first but if it got out of control it could get real messy, and its insane to send men and women into arrest people like that. think of how many would die just tryin g to get to them. best theg would be shoot to kill the bad guys. to save lives. those riot police didnt start the fight the bad guys did so why should they be needlessly put in harms way trying to arrest a bad guy and close enough to put a cuff on him when a sniper could get him from a few hundred yards away ?
the best thing would be to quit settin' up McDonalds and KFCs out there, but military is as much a business as fast-food joints; maybe they should get out too. only "bad guys" out there are the greedy capitalist pigs; and we inadvertently support our troops with every dollar we spend anyway. only the seriously deluded, and right-wing media, claim "troops defend our freedoms". This is just another goddamn witchhunt, and Bush is about as credible as McCarthy was; sensible people see past this admin's bullshit.
I have been reading these and I feel I have to say something. I keep reading over and over that only poor people join the military. I have to ask is it wrong for monitarily challenged people to want to have something better for themselves? For some of these people the only hope they would ever have to go to college is to join the military. Can we honestly hold it against them that they want a better life? Granted being in the military is definately a sacrifice, but it leads to their end goal. Having a good life, making money, being able to get their kids the things they want. Isn't that what we all want? To have a good life, make good money, drive a nice car, own our own homes. They are still people too. Whatever happened to treating people the way you want to be treated? They are just doing a job. I think people think about it the wrong way. Our military doesn't go out on patrol with the intentions of killing anybody. They go out to do their job and if people attack them then they fight back. Wouldn't any of you fight back if an unknown assailant attacked you? If they tried to kill you wouldn't you fight desperately with all you had for your life? I know I would and if I ended up killing that person well better them than me. I keep reading about our troops are killing innocent women and children and babies, but that's not true. Most of the violence that is occurring in Iraq right now is Iraqis inflicting violence on other Iraqis. Damn, turn on the news and you'll see this. They are calling it the precipice for civil war. The news doesn't report the good things that are going on over there. And you know I don't think it's their job to report it. Their job is to report the things that deviate from normalacy i.e. car bombs, beheaded hostages etc. I will be the first to admit the war in Iraq is wrong. We should have never invaded Iraq. However, what's done is done. Would it be right to just pull everybody out and say well you fuck you guys? I think more of the Iraqis would die if we left on the spot. Now that we have destroyed their world we can't just abandon them. The sad truth is no matter where we are there will always be "terrorist" whose only cause is to inflict suffering on our people. Shouldn't we be more concerned about what these people will do to us if given the oppertunity? Did we all forget than almost 5,000 of our people were killed in a matter of seconds? I know I didn't. Those images will be forever seared into my memory. I just think it's our leaders who we should be going after. They are the ones making bad decisions. Our troops are just doing their jobs. Do they have a choice yes on the most primal level. But I think we should all remember they are just people like us. Believe me they don't want to be over there. They don't want to sleep on cots or be away from their families or kids, but most have a greater goal. They just want to get money for school or training for a job they want. Does that make them bad people? I certainly don't think so.
No, that's not correct, sir. What you seem to be describing is the standard materialistic american lifestyle, in which "money" and "happiness" are interchangable. This is NOT what "We all want." Many of us (myself included) would consider this standard american lifestyle to be among the worst possible lifestyles to pursue.
Dude, you're 14. As soon as you drop off your moms tit and have to start paying your own way, you will see that money and happiness are interchangable. I challenge anybody to honestly deny this. Deny saying that being financially secure would make them happier (less stress, more time to do the things they love, more time with friends and family, more time to be high, etc....)
You know, I've heard a lot of Americans attack Bush I for pulling out of Iraq after the first Gulf War without removing Hussein from power. They blame him for pulling out the troops and allowing Hussein to slaughter the uprising. Now many of these same people are demanding Bush Jr. pull the troops out of Iraq immediately. I do not understand this. The Americans that are calling for troop withdrawl, what are your real interests??? Are your interests with the Iraqi people??? Are your interests with American soldiers??? I would like to know this. Why ask for withdrawl and what is your motive???
Well Mr Iraqi, I think the people who demand immediate troop withdrawl are simply being selfish. They think that around about 2500 troops is a lot to sacrifice. I don't think they see the bigger picture though. I think Americans have gotten this mentality that if they want something it is supposed to happen super fast like fast food. The reality is good things come to those who are patient. If we go in and practically destroy a country can anybody honestly expect it to be rebuilt in 3 years? I mean damn the Twin Towers were destroyed almost 5 years ago and we still don't have new ones built and they were just 2 buildings. How can anyone honestly expect for an entire country to be rebuilt in 3? Not to mention we are helping them form their version of a constitution and government. America defintely was not formed and built in 3 years. It would be nice to come to a resolution of mutal agreement. Where both Iraqis and troops could function without fear of reprisal. However, in the real world that's not the way war turns out to be. My heart lies with both the Iraqis and the troops. My wish is that they could both be safe. Unfortunately we don't seem to have very smart people in office right about now so nobody is even trying to figure out what types of action could be intacted to make such measures. They are so busy defending the war that Mr. Bush doesn't seem to hear much else. If he would stop being so damn stubborn and listen to presidents of past, he may actually learn something. Mr. Bush is so busy defending "War on Terror" that he never even attempts discussing much else. How can he when it seems to be his obsession. My belief is if you need help ask for it. My God they are so many wise people in this world. How can they not come up with a solution to make everyone happy and relatively safe? How hard could it possibly be to swallow some pride and admit you don't know everything and you need a bit of help. If everybody tried to work together innuative results would occur. I don't believe that immediate troop withdrawl is the answer. As I said before, we can't just abandon them now. Compared to wars of the past our troop losses are not signifigant. I am sure people who have lost loved ones would beg to differ, but overall our losses really aren't that bad considering we are fighting an unseen force. This war doesn't have lines or boundaries. They don't fight like wars of the past. I think insurgents are cowards. They hide and lay in wait until a harmless convoy comes through to bring supplies to the Iraqis and blow them up courtesy of the infamous IED. Sometimes they use car bombs and sometimes small arms fire or RPGs. It's hard to fight something you can't see coming. If we were to immediately withdrawl it would leave Iraq in an uproar. It would cause so much bloodshed and even more innocent people would die and for what? Mr. Iraqi, if you hear our so called politicians calling for withdrawl it's because our president has 32% approval rating and they are saying what they think the public wants to hear. Instead of trying to find the best possible resolution to a very messy situation they are trying to win their elections too. Of course if the democrats got the senate and congress they still wouldn't have immediate withdrawl. People just don't think of realistic possibilities. We are in it now and the truth is we will be for some time and while we are there we should try to fix as much as we can or let me rephrase that help as much as we can. Iraq has to be able to stand on it's own before we leave. And those are my thoughts for now BTW, Little 14 year old boy, you might want to try ma'am next time. I would hate to have to start in on you because you called me a sir. Don't do it again please and thank you.
Alot of mainstream news and beliefs posted here since yesterday. People speaking out like good little politicians, good little Americans, Good little soldiers. Saying what they have been told for so long that they think they thought of it themselves. I dont need to point out who or quote certain paragraphs, because the rest of us already know who and what. Thank GOD for teenagers who have well functioning minds in this day and age! Everything is against them, yet some still rise above the mediocre. What is the point to it all? If you dont agree with something, start a war. If you wish to change something, start a war. If the money is not flowing right, start a war. Its the easiest thing to do, right? Makes the biggest impression. Who cares if war doesnt work. Who cares if most people dont want it? Most people dont count, its only the rich and powerful who deserve to have things their way. Whoever makes the biggest ruckus gets the prize, right? Well, we will ALL end up with the prize if someone doesnt figure out how not to have war, and it will be a gift that no one wants. I think if so many people think that war is an acceptable means to an end, then they should be the ones to fight it. Period. Truely, it is already too late. We(all earth citizens) are already in too deep, due to APATHY and IGNORANCE. We are ALL being run over top of by the PUPPET MASTERS. Americans are some of the worst, but after all, we MIGHT be some of the most lied to, manipulated, and coddled, and you cant hold it against us, right? The majority of religions are evil. Study up on the history of religion, and you will find more blood has been shed, more freedoms destroyed, in the name of god than anything else. Why? Because people cant or wont use their own heads. Stupidity and evil control the world. The majority are brainwashed by their church and their government. And its ALL evil. Mark my words. I dont tend to be wrong very often if I listen to my heart, and my heart tells me that 2006 is going to be a VERY BAD YEAR in terms of losing freedoms. I believe this year is going to either make or break our very lives, and if something SERIOUS is not done to try to counteract the negative energies we are being bombarded with every day, then we may NOT be able to do ANYTHING at all about it. In other countries, people are marching, and rioting, and demanding changes. Demanding to have control of their lives back. We sit here in front of our TVs, munching on chips, all warm and cozy, watching and saying oh gee, look at that, get me another beer... We have a soap opera mentality, and the worlds woes are presented to us just like some reality show that we can turn off if we get sick of watching. So, while you sit there sleeping in your easy chair, allowing your freedoms to be eroded one small step at a time so you can be free or safe or whatever the hell it is that you dont already have that is so damned important, well, enough said. Just plain stupid if you ask me. You people who buy into the official line, with all those tired ideas repeated over and over by our supposed leaders, should be held personally accountable when the shit hits the fan for real.
Imho some people reduce the level of inteligence and social standing of the majority of the troops.. so they can pretty much reduce them to 'higher ups' 'cannon fodder'.. Poor delusional stupid troops..killing anything that moves.. It is easier for some to think the majority if not all troops [especialy the american troops ofcourse] are a bunch o gun ho cowboys. They are robots.. killing machines... nothing more. In some peoples minds..they see it the right way.. none violence is the key.. FINE.. but we are in a violent situation...what should we do ?. I agree.. 14 out of the 18 provinces are 'stable' and are developing.. The other four is where the major trouble is occuring..and wich gets ALL the media attention.. The 'general' public have collectively noted that 'this war is wrong' .. it would seem.. For the most part the media reflect what the people percieve the situation to be.. Stateing anyhing else would be right wing apolegetic war mongering..and we can't have any of that at tea time can we ?. I disagree... I don't think we 'destroyed their world'... but i agree we can't pull the troops out or seem to be abandoing the Iraqi people.. Though as soon as we are told to leave we should.. no not by the insurgency The US goverment carried out those attacks..its all your own fault. The US goverment were complicite in 9/11 The US goverment is a terrorist organisation ...... etc etc Any sarcasm reflects a element of frustration of reading the negativity within this thread.. apologies.
some here have the wrong idea about being supportive . i left the mainland US because i didnt like the way things were going downtaxes restrictive laws and so on. came down to Puerto Rico started a commune and struggled for a couple of years and recently started finding GOLD in the river. still donate most all money erned to a charitity to help horses in the caribbean. still live in tent. generate own eletric and so on. i dont like war but sometimes its needed, like soon we will probably be in a mess with N. korea again. what would you anti war people have us do? just let them walk all over us or S. korea? my daughter recently joined the ARMY 4th generation in my family to do so. if she died in service to her country sure i would be sad and grieve. but knowing she had the will and curage to stand up and do something she believed in instead of just sitting on some websites fourms bitching at people. i would be happy for her if you people dont like whats going on change it, do something about it. see if you really are a majoritity or just a loud minoritity. and for people that keep saying if you belive in this war why dont you go fight it then. well i already had my turn at it. what about you? i think not you just want to sit here and down the goverment and put our children in more danger by fuleing the fires overseas. if you want the war to end for real, encourage the goverment to actually win the damn war then instead of saying pull out. we leave now any that oppose the insurgants in iraq will die. any that do not agree with them will die. is that what you want? how would you like it if some guy in a dark came to you tonight and said excuse me but you disagreed with the goverments policies in a public fourm and your going to prison, where we will torture you and try to change your mind. and if that dont work we will bring in your children or other family members and torture them and see if you change your mind. then after they break your will they go ahead and kill you anyways. personally im not a big fan of war. but if we are going to fight we need to actually fight and kill the enemy. as i siad in other post id much rather have the fighting going on over there instead of down main street usa. and incase you didnt notice i havent seen any planes flying into US building since we went to war. but in france even though they were against the war and thought by staying out they would be left alone. they were not left alone and had the train bombings there shortly after the war started. and then they got exactly what they wanted a communist won election. and now they are gettign what they deserve for being such pushovers. civil unrest riots and so on. give peace a chance. sure ok we did and got attacked now its our turn to get the fight off US soil and take it the attackers home. and for those that say if a terrerost was from england and bombed the US would we attack england. well i dont think so since they would cooperate with the goverment. but if england or any other country refused to help they should be also considered the enemy.
I have to differ about being robots. They do have emotions and feelings where as a machine could have neither. Going to war does affect them too. Hence why so many of them are coming back with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. They may know how to kill but as I said before they don't want to kill anybody. They only shoot and/or kill a person if attacked first. This is no Vietnam. I think when it comes right down to it everybody knows how to kill. It just depends on how you choose to react to a person or situation. As I said before, I just can't hate a person because they want to make a better life for themselves. A lot of people in the miltary are from differrent countries ie Mexico, Peutro Rico, etc. The military is vastly made up of minorities. I don't think we literally destroyed their world either. I was more referring to the unstability that war does bring and yes a lot of roads and buildings etc. were destroyed and/or severely damaged. I totally agree that when they say let's go we should go. Unfortunatly, I don't forsee this happening anytime soon though. As I stated before Mr. Bush seems to be deaf and extremely stubborn. As for a comment I saw about all religons being bad, I have to disagree. It's the radicals from all the differrent religons that give it a bad name. Not all people are bad. As I said before, there will always be "terrorist" and they will always be there trying to impose their beliefs on everybody. You can't blame the religon. The people who interpret it in the extreme ways are the ones to blame. No offense taken Matt
It would be easier to put your gender in your profile so it shows up to him. This way, you won't have to cry out every time somebody refers to you as a he.
The optimal lifestyle would be a self-sustaining way of life, living off of the land. However, I recognize that this is not practical for most people, myself included, which is why the optimal lifestyle instead is to live with the minimal amount of money needed to secure food and shelter. Excess money, or what most people would consider being "financially secure," merely leads to excess things, and having excess things always leads to wanting more things, and soon we become caught up in a struggle to afford the bigger truck and the gas to run it. The key is to work less, earn less money, and have less stuff. Live simply. :EDIT: And after re-reading, I had to point out that despite the fact that you are older than I am, I still managed to refrain from insulting you or using any rude or vulgar phrases in any of my statements, while you failed to excersise this basic self-restraint that is appropriate on a public forum; after all, there could be 14 year old kids reading this, and we don't want them to think that disrespect and vulgarity are acceptable behavior, now do we? :EDIT:
Cry? Whose's crying? I think it would be more approptiately be called correcting him. However, thank you for pointing out to me to put a gender. I haven't really had the time to mess with the whole profile thing just yet.
When I refer to Mr. Bush being deaf and extremly stubborn I refer to the fact he doesn't seem to care what anyone thinks and he doesn't seem to seek counsel from anyone. I think he seems to think he knows exactly what he is doing and doesn't need help. However, I think that all people need advice and help. How can one truly expect to be a good leader if they don't listen to "presidents" of past or other former leaders who have been in power longer? I think with time comes experience and knowledge. The ability to listen and comprehend is an essential key to becoming a good leader. Take for instance Mr. Clinton, he was overall a good leader and it was because he listened and headed advice given to him by former leaders of the past and/or present. I know everybody has their faults, but I truly believe one should be willing to actively work towards correcting one's faults to become a better person. I think it just doesn't work when a person is close minded and think their way is the only way or right way. Isn't that how wars start?
