Poot. I was hoping the title of this thread was to showcase a glorious mockery, MST3K-style.

Very well put. I have heard many people say that the United States is safer than it was before 9/11. They base this claim on the fact that there has not been another successful attack. Politicians have said this! Members of the Administration, Senator McCain, etc... This is a very dangerous way to think. Like Shaggie stated, look at the timeframe between 1993 WTC bombing and 9/11. Does that mean that the United States was safer after 1993 WTC, or was it because the terrorist organization was preoccupied with planning and setting up the next large scale attack? The situation is no different now. While the United States is notably safer than before 9/11, they are still not passing the tests required to prevent another large scale attack.

The pdf of testimony of Breitweiser, a 911 widow, before the Senate intelligence committee during the summer of 2002.

These are the hearings that C-SPAN, MSNBC, and Fox chose to ignore. Shame on C-SPAN for not covering it. That's supposed to be their job.

    http://home.flash.net/~lauras34/breitweiser.pdf

She cited about 40 incidents before 911 where people were going to intentionally down an aircraft for destructive purposes, including the guy that flew his Cessna into the White House in 1994.

It made Condi Rice with her ignorance pleas look like an idiot.

A page with info about Breitweiser:

    http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Kristen_Breitweiser

    The Donahue interview:

    http://homepage.eircom.net/~gulufuture/future/breitweiser.htm

    Excerpts:

"BREITWEISER: At this point, we are fighting for an independent investigation, an investigation into 9/11 removed from the political process. We don’t feel comfortable with Congress investigating itself, basically. You have congressional committees that had oversight duties with the FBI and the CIA. We want politics removed. We want pure accountability, and we feel that an independent investigation is needed to have that.

We’ve had independent investigations with regard to Pearl Harbor, with regard to the shuttle accident. If there’s a car accident, you have an investigation. We have waited 11 months, and I think it is deplorable that these women and myself have to leave our children, our homes, and go down to Washington and beg for answers. To have the right to have answers, we have to beg. And it’s disgusting."

I'm pretty sure now that Colyer's just joking around. I've read other stuff he's written, and he's not the complete jackass and idiot that he plays in this forum. I suspect that he thinks he's being funny, and is keeping the "gag" going.

The only reason i'm against Bush being impeached is that if he was, Cheney or Frist might be in charge.

Look, there are only two more years left of this administration, then he is gone. Let's focus on making sure good people get elected, and not someone who will just give us a repeat of the last six years.

Yea, only two more years of this administration, and then Queen Condoleeza is anointed as the next monarch. Good luck. You're gonna need it!

It's hard to tell with Bush supporters whether they're being truthful or sarcastic. Most are on the verge of self-parody.

Some of the things religious fundamentalists say are so off the wall you sometimes think they are being funny when they're actually serious.

Forget about Condi. She should have been the one down at the grade school in Florida reading about the pet goat.

yeah Jim, i respect your opinion, but your support for your argument is stupid and thoughtless. it sounds as though youre trying to convince yourself that you like him.

We are not nearly safer at all since having him in office. His constant attempts at linking Islam with Terrorism has made the Middle East become more hateful towards us. His policies in Guantanamo Bay are DISUGSTING, and he is turning america into another country, he is taking america ten steps backwards in human rights with the torture being regularly done in Guantanamo Bay. you think that the Middle East doenst know about this? You think this doenst make them more angry towards the US, taht we are taking people and putting them in a prison for 4 years, with no legal rights, no access to lawyers?? not to mention, that only a tiny fraction of those people have even been accused of anything. the rest are labeled possible terrorists with little to no proof, and more and more stories come out each month with stories on innocnet prisoners kept there.

the iraq war is ridiculous, we knew that they had no WMD, bush and his administration have other thoughts on there minds, get real Jim. and now we are there purely because of MANIFEST DESTINY...ya know, we, the whites, are burdened with the responsibility to enlighten every other culture about democracy and our way of life??

    what a joke.

I agree with some of this but take issue with the manifest destiny angle. It's pure economics. We need a puppet regime to ensure that oil can flow freely. It's big oil whose interests are at heart here. Is it not suspicious that suddenly crude oil is coming down in price just ahead of a mid-term election? Iran and Venezuela are still thumbing their noses at us. Try not to be too surprised when "unforeseen circunstances" cause prices to spike right back up to where they were earlier in the summer.

The Bush administration was sure they'd find WMDs in Iraq but it wasn't the perceived threat to world peace that motivated the war... it was pure economics. By demonizing the "evil dictator" the hope was that public support could be built. Unfortunately for puppet George, there were no WMDs found nor was there proof of any link with Hussein's government to 9/11. Unfortunately Bush's legacy will be bearing fruit for generations as whole new generations of Islamic militants are motivated to attack our interests.

My thoughts exactly, just because nothing else has happened yet does'nt nessisarily mean shit. I mean I hope they have things under control, but I have learned to never get my hopes up too high on anything.

Good Idea: Lets support the president right out of office, with these articles of impeachment: warrantless surveillance, misleading Congress on the reasons for the Iraq war, violating laws against torture, and subverting the Constitution’s separation of powers.

If we Dems reclaim congress, the next two years should be most interesting :H

either way the american public will have to sit it out for quite sometime. my bet is that people will keep making stupid decisions at the ballot box, the war will probably go on after the next election regardless.

the party out of power wants to impeach the president no matter who he is.

Liar. I'm sure you're aware that dems overwhelmingly supported Bush after 9/11. Only when he started dismantling our constitution did anyone turn against him.

Bush is the ultimate traitor, and must be brought to justice.
