if it was a random someone you didn't know and it had happened before your friend did this I certainly doubt you would have reacted this way at all much of the time we suffer ritcheous indignation just because we wish to feel ritcheous......
How can you expect one to be rational when his friend attempted suicide? I would love to see you act rationally in the same situation! Plus, such negativity and confrontation as Ed produces only pushes a person to irrational actions.
Pavel, Dave would have acted perfectly rationally because he's Godlike...you have to remember that. And Dave, you obviously don't know me at all...because thoes kinds of comments to or from anyone is completely uncalled for.
I think that death is usually taken less seriously than it should. Think about how important life is. If you died, your conciousness would be gone forever (depending on whether or not there is an afterlife), and that is a pretty big deal. Dont say that he is overreacting. Pain is pain and you cannot determine how much pain comes out of a certain situation. And nathan, sorry for your misfortune. I your friend has a successful recovery.
Reading this whole thread made me feel totally down I just don't know what to say Nathan, even if he's not dead that's a terrible thing. I'm sending positive vibes (and it's not ya know the poseur thing of yeah i'll do it but forgets and do not care ) I sincerely hope your friend will get better ..
feel free death is part of life it is to be celebrated disease is sad death is a celebration and my stance always has been that attempted self harm is a stupid idea you can go back and read every post I've ever made, you will not find deviation from that stance.....
I agree, death is a part of life. Yet, I do not see how it should be celebrated in the case of suicide.
if one chose to end ones life then why should those around them suffer it? they made the choice, they were thinking likely only of themself at the time they did it, and so in their fierce if shallow introspection they made a descision, not saying it's a good one, never have, never will, but it is their life, should they choose to destroy it it is the duty of those around them to not be adversly affected by it
dude you told people to commit suicide until something happened (I have no idea what it was, for the sake of this don't care) in your very first incarnation you would say things in the vein of the person being stupid enough to want to kill themself so they should I understand a change in perspective, but god, in any case needing to have someone kill themself or having tried yourself etc. etc. etc. is not a good reason to change a perspective
It's my DUTY to not be affected? Dave, now you're just speaking out of your ass. Please tell me what MY fucking duties are!
wtf. oh shit. okay. okay, nate. i was insensitive and said things i shouldn't have because i'm a mean bitch or something. i apologize.
