I wear a lot of clothes from thift shops... goodwill, value village, red light, buffalo exchange, paws n claws (the money made is donated to shelters!).... I wear all animal friendly clothing... and a lot of natural shades... little boy tshirts.... a lot of tye dye... the most expensive piece of clothing i own probably is a columbia sports wear coat... but I live in the pacific northwest... it rains A LOT!
I'm a skirts girl - I love skirts, maybe with brightly coloured tights underneath when it's cold. The kind of skirts I like are...think Reese Witherspoon's wardrobe in Walk The Line I also love wearing 50s, 60s and 70s vintage dresses over my jeans, especially with a big belt and I love nanna cardigans and little 50s style jerseys that go with skirts. And then there's the earrings...I make my some of my earrings, some I buy, but they are all on the...flamboyant side. I love earrings. Oh and the most expensive thing I own is also one of the cheapest...it's a Carly Harris dress that retails for NZ $300 - $400 but I got it in an op shop as part of a sale for about 7 cents. Bargain! and yeah, I'm another addict of the op shop.
I just go shopping and try to buy what I need or what i loke... I don't spent a lot of money on my clothes...but instead i give a lot money on my shoes... just trying to find the perfect mach for them!
My style is mainly a blend of gothic and ren-faire type clothing with a few random outfits of different styles mixed in. I love lush velvets, rich deep burgandy and forest green tones, elegant lace, and a bit of PVC thrown in every now and then for the heck of it. I wear a lot of skirts and dresses. As for tops I have a passion for corsetry and poet shirts. I do a lot of my shopping at thrift shoppes, though I make a lot of my clothing as well. I also shop at regular stores when they're having sales. As for the most expensive peice of clothing I own, once I've finished it that title will be awarded to my velvet trenchcoat, as the materieals cost me around $130, but until thats done the most expensive peice of clothing I own would have to be my other coat which I bought for $90.
My styles: Typically "hippie" stuff (peasant skirts, tie dyes, blouses, long dyed dresses, bandanas, wood jewellry, etc), but I dabble in gothy, 80s punk, gothic lolita, pirate, decora/candy raver, tribal, and a whoooole crapload of things!! Most expensive thing I own is probably a pair of sarong pants that was $40, but normally my closet is just thrift store stuff or homemade.
I dunno what my style is, I've always just bought whatever struck my fancy and looks good on me (I like to emphasize my hourglass shape ... flaunt it while I've still got it, eh?), but I definitely tend towards long skirts, blouses either very loose or very fitted, and earth tones. Shades of brown, warm reds, sagey green. Sometimes black, it is so slimming! I love bells and fringes and beads and that kind of thing, I think it's fun and pretty. And I shop almost exclusively secondhand. There are a couple stores that I patron religiously. One thing that's really important to me is the kind of cloth. Soft and natural. I have very sensitive skin and I like to be comfy ... so when I shop for clothes, I can narrow the field down a lot just by going through the racks with my fingers. If I don't like the way it feels to touch, I don't even look at it. Most expensive thing ... my prom dress ... it's an Anne Taylor red silk gown that I got secondhand for about $70. Now, I didn't actually go to the prom ... lol ... instead my girlfriend and my other friends and I all got dressed up as if we were going to the prom, then wandered around town turning heads, had a late dinner, and stayed up till 2 AM watching Mulholland Dr, the strangest movie I have ever seen but very cool, especially when you are so tired that the weirdest stuff makes a bizarre kind of sense. The hobo guy is creepy. Wow that was off topic.
PS: I think it's cool that there are so many girls here who like wearing skirts, other than miniskirts which I never could get excited about. The only person my age who wear long colorful skirts that I know, other than myself, if one of my guy friends.
haha, no kidding^. I wear typical "hippie" stuff I guess. I have only a few tie dyed shirts that I did myself. I mostly wear skirts and t shirts. Sometimes I'll wear shorts and my Tori Amos t-shirt that's too big for me, but I love it anyway. Then there are jogging pants days. I make a big deal out of the material too. I have a hemp hoodie, but it is so scratchy I have to make myself wear it sometimes.
Lots & lots of long, comfy skirts. I just wear them over my pants or with cozy leg warmers in the winter. Scarves are my second addiction. Most expensive item I own?- probably the silk patchwork skirt I got for my b-day.
I wear what I feel like or whatever I can find that's clean. I currently have mainly black and punk looking stuff (changing that gradually). I like to shop at Goodwill, etc but I incorperate stuff from Claires and Hot Topics.. I just kinda like anything that I can wear that expresses my thoughts, moods, etc.
my style is very casual...some of it may be out-dated cuz I have had some shirts for over 6 yrs. I still like wearing baggy nursing scrub tops & stuff I get from thrift shops.
I don't buy clothes too often. Almost my entire wardrobe consists of clothing that friends have bought for me for Christmas, birthdays, etc. Most of my friends know my clothing situation too, so when they've got a bag to donate, they let me go through it first. So I wear what everyone else wore 5 years ago. Right now I'm wearing socks (that I actually bought), jeans that were going to be donated but were given to me, a long sleeved shirt I got for free when I attended a workshop, and a hoodie I got when I was 12 (grad hoodie for grade 7). A lot of the clothes I've bought are from when i was a kid too. I'm just now donating things I bought at 11 or 12, so six or seven years ago. I like to make clothes too, and when I have the money, I'll buy pretty earthy fabrics. I like earthy colours when I get a choice. My most expensive piece of clothing was the prom dress I made for high school graduation. The fabric cost CAD $250 half-price on new years day blowout, and the beads and sequins were probably about CAD $50.
When left to my own devices, I wear long skirts or jeans with simple tops and when it's cold I put sweater on top. I have a job that requires "professional" dress, so I look much different at work. To work, I wear a lot of tunic tops and more tailored skirts or pants. I wear my converse tennies to work a lot. They are picky about clothes, but not shoes :H My department is more slack because we work with kids and do a lot of running back and forth and playing games, etc. . . Go figure.
i dress hippyish. very casual. the most expensive thing i own is my bob marley tee shirt.. it cost 16.00 dollars.
let's see -- i buy stuff only made in the USA (btw i'm NOT saying that all of ya'll who buy clothes from outside the USA are evil or stupid), its just something i gotta do... Anyhow, i have a lot of boho themed clothes that are handmade, choosing from the plethora of online shops out there. All the other clothing i have are made in usa and look i'd say professional ( a lot of button downs and shirts with collars), so that i can appease my mother and look "normal" as she says, when i gotta... Handmade clothing can become quite expensive, okay very expensive, because it is made by hand and taking up a lot of someone's time -- I've purchased handmade shirts as cheap as $14 and skirts and dresses up to $90-$100...But the wonderful seamstress ladies are the nicest people i think i have ever met! From born-again hippie Christians to anti-corp hippies --- they are all so sweet. Truly.
Muffin's style = cofusing. I wear whatever I feel like, thus, my style changes often. one day, very hippy with lots of flowy fabric, the next almost punk. I think I like the hippy look the best though.
during the winter I mainly wear what could be described as a beatnik look - black long sleeved t shirts or turtlenecks, skirts, and black tights, with lots of jewellery. during the summer, I mainly wear brightly coloured dresses and my jewellery; I don't really know what style this is, I guess you might call it hippy or boho. I buy all my clothes at thrift stores. the most expensive thing I have is my winter coat, which cost me $80 on sale. it was worth it though, because it's warm (and I need it for these crazy canadian winters)
