From what I have read and been told it is very common to find barefoot students in New Zealand more so in the primary and intermediate schools and amongst teens and young adults out and about in public.
Bare feet are also encouraged and part of the uniform in some primary schools in south Africa.

Zeeland (the original Zealand) is a province of the Netherlands. It was as important as north and south Holland (also coast provinces, but so prominent in the world trade and exploring the name Holland was and is used as the name for the whole country of the Netherlands)

    There are two:

    Zealand - Wikipedia

    Zeeland - Wikipedia

historical correct is the second, cause the Dutch sailor Abel Tasman named NZ according to Zeeland he came from.

You can go barefoot in Zeeland without any problems, but it's not very common.

I never knew Sjælland also ment sealand!

    From your wiki link:

The exact origin of the Danish name "Sjælland" is controversial. Sjæl in Danish today means "soul", but based on older records one can exclude this interpretation. Even a derivation derived from siô / sæ(meaning "sea") corresponding closely to the English name is today largely rejected.
