Funny that that quote was the only thing you commented on. Evolution 1-5 is a religion. If you choose to believe it that's fine. But I'm sick of paying tax dollars to have it taught. It's dumb and dangerous.

i know this just b/c i watched his videos before. and kent is in prison for various tax evasion. I am a christian, I believe in creationism, but kent hovind proves little points, but doesn't have too much evidence for his theories either. just saying

Dutchblood87, I love Kent Hovind. I seen his videos too and as you can see taking notes and building my points off his foundations. To me, he really speaks the Truth and really motivates me to look at science closer.

His theory is God. You don't need evidence, just faith. If you know evolution for what it is, God is the way. The only way.

    Peace unto you.

You ever notice how most young earth creation scientists are often engineer or other type of non-natural science PhDs? or have degrees from degree mills *cough* KentHovind *cough*

Just a question... which diseases exactly does my appendix protect me from?

I just find it odd that you know this, while no doctor has discovered anything of the sort. Divine insight?

It's the same story with the anti-global warming nutters.

Ramble, if you want to convince us Christianity is so fantastic and amazing, it might help if we saw some evidence from you yourself. I'm not seeing much difference between us at the moment - we're all argumentative, defensive, squabbling at petty matters, with no love or grace whatsoever. If Christianity changed that visibly in its followers, I might begin to be persuaded that there was something to it. If I'm going for a job in a factory and I see all the workers are miserable, exhausted and overweight, am I an idiot for thinking it's not a very great job?

Here is where you are wrong. You assume that the appendix is useless because it is used as a vestigial example of evolution. It is not an example of evolution and it is useful. Why would it not be ?

And you assume doctors do not understand the appendix.

    I tell you the truth

    1. the appendix is useful
    2. it is not even close to be evidence for evolution

Why do you do some research on it ? I may. Stand bye. It seems I have to do everything for you.

If you really belive it is of no use, I will pay you to have yours removed.

    LOL

You have no idea what you are talking about. You are assuming.

What's it matter anyhow ? Evolution is a fallacy. There is no possible way to be an expert in it scientifically. It's an oxymoron.

Did you know Darwin went to bible school ?

Did you know that there are a lot of scientific discoveries and applications that you enjoy today that were thanks to creationist ?

Did you know that most the major branches of science were created by creationist ?

Catch my drift ? What is your point ? It don't mean anything.

    *cough*

I thought you said you were a Christian ? Or are you a liar ? Probably the latter.

I am not here to convince you of ANYTHING WALSH. I am here to strengthen Christians faith in the bible.

I am not arguing. I am winning a debate with you so easily. Why ? Because I am right and you are wrong.

I am not mad, bitter or anything. I love you Walsh actually. I wish you saw the light brother, I fear your heart is hardened and closed forever. WOE to you if so.

Walsh I also think you are funny because you are so ignorant to Truth. I pray for you honestly.

    Stick around friend.

You asked if I believed in Jesus, and I said yeah sure, Jesus was a dude who was around about 2000 years ago, lived till he was in his 30s then died.

What you wrote demonstrates what I said. Do you think what you wrote shows us that a Christian is humble, filled with love and grace and faith? "By their fruit you will recognize them: Matthew 7:20". No doubt you will argue smugly with this.

Because it was useful when we used to eat things high in cellulose, which we can't digest? Seems pretty simple to me.

You do realize millions of people get their appendixes removed each year?

Forget the appendix, here is a better example. Dolphin embryos have hind limb buds, and human embryos have empty yolk sacs and partially degraded genes for yolk production.

As for Kent Hovind it is easy enough to find point by point refutations of every claim against evolution that he makes. Also the fact that this "devout" christian is in prison for failing to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's (tax evasion) should raise suspicions.

Petrified wood extending through geological columns? Not even close. The reasons for why this sometimes appears to be the case are well understood and documented by people with training in the relevant disciplines, something that Hovind never had.

Of course this post is not aimed at the OP, because the OP has made it clear that reason will not influence his faith. This post is for those who don't know enough about evolution to make an informed decision about it, and who may be swayed by the OP's regurgitated arguments.

Of course you can comment OP, I just meant that your other posts made it clear that there is no point in trying to convince you of anything.

You conflate Creation with Young Earth. St Augustine to whom we owe much of our interpretive heritage to wrote against a literal reading of Genesis 1.
I am sure Gregor Mendel was a Creationist, but his work is considered the beginning of modern genetics on whihc the foundation of evolutionary biology was built.

Galileo surely was a creationist of sorts, but I am certain he did not subscribe literally to Genesis 1 (you know with the whole stars and moon and sun in the firmament, which is later likened to a hammered metal bowl).

My point is that many Young Earth Creationists simply do not have authentic or relevant educational credentials. Kent Hovind received his PhD from a known diploma mill. Ken Ham has a degree in applied science, Henry M Morris has a degree in civil engineering, Jonathan Sarfati is a chemist.

Hugh Ross, whom I respect as an old Earth creationist because he knows the universe is old fails because he has no biological training.

I just want to begin a string of questioning with you, would you prefer PM?

You can begin your questions here in this thread, if you wish.

On St. Augustine. That is one mans interpretation of Genesis. He is a man, you are a man. God created all man in his image. So, why should I take his interpretation as absolute truth or why should anybody ? That is simply his opinion. Evolutionist have opinions, that does not mean they are right. The point with Augustine is that he was creating room for Gap Theory, and I suspect he is Catholic, yes ?

Augustine simply uses scripture in the texts to formulate his theory and argues for a Gap theory, allowing evolution to take hold. I read scripture and study it against theory. Why should I take his view as anything other than his opinion. That is my question.

Gregor Medel had no idea how DNA replicated or how inheritance worked in modern terms. He simply observed inheritance. Yet, this famous experiment is used to support all the forms of evolution, but, it only supports variation that is observed in natural selection. It by no way provides evidence that we evolved from lesser animals over long periods of time. Gregor was a great scientist, I agree.

Even if Galileo was an Evolutionist, what does it matter ? Evolution has long ago left science and is a religion.

What do you mean creationist don't have 'authentic' credentials ? I do not need a secular degree to inquire. Even if none had 'credentials' what does it matter, really ? The evidence speaks for itself. There are 1,000 of 'qualified' creationist.

This is what you may not understand. Secular universities should be no bench mark for establishing any credibility. For one, they must teach the religion of evolution no matter what or be fired. Two, it is not even science but yet they are considered great scientist, some of them. What's the point.

20 years ago if I was in Russia and said that capitalism is a better idea than communism I would be exiled. Same thing happens to all scientist at public universities that go against the religion of evolution...they are exiled intellectually.

So what's street cred got to do with facts and science. We are all man, capable of thought and experimentation, no ? Though, I do agree that scientific training helps, if it is in fact real science as defined by real science.

God preserved his word in the bible. Man need not try to interpret it ...look what happened with interpreting a gap theory into it: It gave the foundation for evolution. The bible clearly states the world was created in 6 literal days according to the KJV (the most accurate version). Why twist it ? Because of Satan and the NWO. That's why.

2nd Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

Psalm 118:8— "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man."

If you think God used evolution, you have the wrong God, certainly not the God in the bible.

    Your brother in Christ.

Dolphin embryos having hind limb buds is absolutely not evidence for evolution. The undeveloped hind limbs eventually grow into very important and useful parts of the Dolphin before it is born unto the sea. Fill me in, how is this evidence ?

If I may ask, explain how human embryos having empty yolk
sacs and partially degraded genes for yolk production is evidence for anything other than a human being in a womb ?

On petrified trees connecting all geological column layers. What are the reasons for this sometimes being the case ? It violates this ridiculous claim that there is such a column. It only exist in text books in reality.

The geological column was created to support claims of evolution. It had to be done so it makes sense. It is absolutely false. You are assuming arbitrary layers of rock are ages. This is wrong.

Kent Hovind is a great servant of the Lord. Truth is suppressed. I'm not shocked he is in jail.

I am actually about to write him.

Actually no, rambleON, those hind limb buds do not develop into "very important and useful parts...". In fact their development is completely turned off during embryonic development, except for when those genes malfunction. When this happens they continue to grow into hind limbs, and dolphins have been found in the wild with femurs. The only way this is possible is if dolphins evolved from land animals, which they did.

As for the thing about human embryos, your response reveals that you have no understanding of biology in general, or of embryology in particular. This makes me wonder why you engage in such a discussion, without first studying the relevant fields. Humans don't need a yolk sac because we are provided with nutrients by the mother's body. The fact that we not only posses yolk sacs, but that the yolk sacs do not at any point contain any yolk, and the fact that the human genome contains yolk producing genes which are partially degraded so as to not be able to produce yolk only makes sense in the light of common ancestry with organisms that did require yolk sacs and yolk production.

As for you claim that universities engage in a conspiracy against those who do not believe in evolution, this charge is false for many reasons but instead of expounding them here one counter-example will do. Michael Behe is adamantly opposed to the theory of evolution, is very outspoken on the subject, and is currently employed at an accredited secular university. He also has actually studied biology. His ideas are rejected not by conspiracy but because he has failed to prove them to his peers.

As for the idea of geological columns being completely made up, rather than doing your homework for you (the information is readily available, especially for people with internet access) i will simply ask you this: How is it that biostratigraphy has been so wildly successful if the basis on which it is built is fraudulent? Again, i'm not doing your homework for you, if you aren't familiar with biostratigraphy and its applications in modern industry you will have to look it up yourself.

As for Hovind: Firstly i suspect he is a liar, he is too intelligent to believe the things he says in his speeches. Secondly when you listen to his speeches do you just sit there agreeing with him, or do you do what I do when I listen to him (and yes I have listened to hours of his speeches and debates) and write down every claim he makes and then spend hours reading scholarly articles to see if his claims have any base?

Again I do not intend to change your mind, you have made it clear that doubt is from the devil, and so reason could never assail your fortress of faith. I write this for open minded people who haven't studied the relevant subjects yet. And I invite those people to not take my word, and to start studying the theory of evolution if they really want to know about it.

No matter how often I've read the creation account and no matter which translation I use, even the KJV, I've never seen it say "6 literal days" or even that the days talked about were 24 hour days and in fact I've even shown you where the Bible indicates that those "days" were over 5000 years long. :)

Here's a little something from Scientific American on the function of the appendix.
    http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=what-is-the-function-of-t
It seems to indicate that the appendix is no longer considered vestal.
