You know what. You're right, creek. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, it just bothers me when people talk out of ignorance and because they think they know something. My apologies.

He had a drug addiction because he had terrible stomach pains that doctors couldn't treat. Heroin is well known to center around the stomach, and that's why he used it. You should actually learn about things before you talk.

Also, wow, you are so damn edgy calling Kurt emo. Everyone does that these days, and why? If he was "emo" then you should be calling emo grunge, not the other way around.

And yeah, Mudhoney was a lot more original and quite a bit better, but his music is still very good as long as you don't just listen to Nevermind.

Daniela, can you post links to HF threads bashing Cobain? outside of the one you started, of course.

Dinosaur Jr. Is a damn great band, but I've NEVER heard of them referred to as grunge (nor really see how they could be considered so on any level).

The term grunge (as far as music goes) was first used to describe Mudhoney (Green River at the time) in an article in a Seattle magazine. I think it was the drummer, I can't remember.

And Neil Young is called the godfather of grunge, in the same respect that Anthony Burgess is called the godfather of punk; it means they are recognized (by someone) as starting an environment in which the music could be accepted.

Everyone here is an asshole for making a big deal of it. Even me. None of us knew the guy, we don't know bout his bidness, so just be happy with what he left us for that brief time he passed through this world.

And as for calling him emo....fuck whoever wrote that.
*don't mean to be harsh but I'm just expressin myself*

I wouldn't go so far as to call neo a complete idiot, though I totally disagree with what he is saying and think that what he is saying is thoughtless. There is no such thing as an entirely self-caused problem, for one thing. And to relegate everyone of us out here who does have problems, who had a poor upbringing for instance, to the demeaning category of "emo" just goes to prove that our problems aren't all self-caused. Part of the pain is the price we pay for being stupid enough to believe that people are bigger than that, just to have our hopes dashed time and time again. But we keep on going and we always will.

Nirvana is quite possibly the greatest band of all time. Not that being the greatest band of all time is actually a meaningful thing to be.

Well, I don't really have an opinion of his suicide or if he is an idiot/douchebag etc etc, or if people still think about him and his suicide.
My interest in him, in realation all that, evaporated about, 8 years ago.
But, what I still find interesting is if he would be still making music.
    Would it be any good.
Would Dave Grohl be still stuck behind his drum kit.
