how is "god a fair god" when he lets a small group of people control the worlds wealth and continue to let the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and living conditions around the world decrease as global warming, poverty, droughts, pandemics, government influences, and complete and utter disregard run RAMPANT in this "fair" world?

how is "god a fair god" when he lets events like the holocaust occur? when beings he supposidly created can be corrupted by overwhelming power and comit atrocities beyond anyones imagination?

the bottom to me, is Religion is a Crutch, a crutch people use for hope, for help in times of need for desperation, nothing more, to look at the world in the state it is in today, i cannot say that i belive there is a higher form

i just cant...i cant get past how FUCKED UP this world we live in is, and how such a powerfull higher being would let things like quadruple homicides happen, let fucking 11 year old girls get raped in their own beds by pshycopaths, to me ALL these things are related to evolution, the more we know about the body and brain, the more FUCKED UP things get, discovery is a great tool, but looking back in time it's also become a huge problem, as cliche as it is, back in the caveman days i'm sure "ignornace is bliss" stands strong, as basic survival is what it boils down to in the end

god isnt responsible for that shit. people are. god created man with free will. would you tather be a mindless slave with no say on how you live your life? is that what you want? huh? do you wanna be catholic?

actually, since god is aware of everything, and exists in every point in time, he knows exactly what everyone is going to do and when they are going to do it and what the consequences will be. he knows that when he creates man and when before he creates man and he knew that when he had the idea to create man because he knows everything at once. thus we have no free will, because god created us in such a way that we would do everything that we do. because he knows what we will do before we exist.

unless you believe in some sort of passive demi-god who created the world and then observes it as it progresses

How do you know those little girls that get raped werent criminals/rapist in the last life they lived in, so god just wants them to feel like what they put others through, idk its just a wild guess. but god is control of everything, he knows all. Who are we to judge god and his decisions? we will know everything when we die, we will know why we existed and why we were created with the family we were dealt with and everything. were in no position to judge gods decisions.


In my long time here on the hipforums, ive encouraged many to read up on Near-Death Expiriences. There all over the internet/books/articles everything. the way these people describe death, is ALL similair in its own way. Ive read countless books(believe it or not) on near death expiriences and ive read countless of em on the internet, and they all happen to have simalir characteristics.

You won't be able to say what, who, how, or why "god" is, because god is more central to the human mind as a concept (and open to perspective, therefore), not some objectively existing being that we can regularly realize. To my best examination thus far, god is a fallacy, BUT that doesn't mean anything negative at all. It doesn't even mean you're disillusioning yourself if you follow/believe in a God. I do not, though I find there are large and mysterious elements to this existence.

It's really more about what a thing like 'god' does for your life, your world, your ability to sleep at night. Talking about God is not about God; it's about YOU. I think if people started to realize that, they might stop worrying so much about God. It's about meaning, purpose. That's what the fundamental of religion is. Meaning and social structure.

 

Would it matter? If a person percieves themselves as having free will and can act on it and fulfill their own understanding, then free will does exist (even if, ultimately, it doesn't).

 

Ya, lets just put it this way. We have our own free will to do what we want, God just knows everything we will think/do in the future. That doesnt take away our free will, it just proves Gods all knowing knowledge.

so if this is the case, does the entire world act in Unisen? or does everyone simply live their own lives among pretty much "characters" who are merely part of your life, but are not in the same position as yourself?

I dont see whats so hard to understand..we make our own decisions..like i decide to type this post. God knew i was going to type this post. Digital..if u decide to go out and buy some beer, God knows that ahead of time, but its still your free will is it not?
