eh, I guess I did lose sight of the topic. But biology fascinates me, and I always jump at an oppurtunity to discuss it in depth.

 

My oppinion: The theory of a God, or multiple Gods, is no more proven then saying we are all in some computer program like the Matrix. Or like we are all in a dream. There is no evidence. However, I don't nesicarily think there is not a God or multiple Gods, it is just a random guess that there is. There is more evidence to support the theory that there is no God. Therefore I choose to believe that there is no higher being, but entertain the possibility that there could be.

Oh yeah: Nothing can live without the sun. Without the sun the whole earth would die and no longer be exisent, including those creatures living deep in the ocean that don't directly use sunlight. But without the sun the whole ecosystem would be out of whack and those organisms would die.

in our lifetime or shortly after i guarantee you there will be a time, where your concious mind will have the ability to be uploaded into an external host ie. your mind and celestial prescence would be an entity on a system similar to the internet

i read an AMAZING article in Time magazine which outlined this kind of thing happening, and it went over huge events in the future 100 years

the point is, technology of the world is getting to the point where things are moving so fast, there is no doubt in my mind that eventually it will become matrix like, where humans have created technology so fast and above their heads that eventually technology will have the ability to think and LEARN itself, which evidently could even result in somthing like a "technologic biologic" disease, so think aids or cancer, but this was created by a FUCKING COMPUTER!

and with all this said, the bottom line is this is evolution, and of course with technology, you move on to new technology fast, but thinking how far we've come in the last 100 years, how can u not think that what we have today could be made over 10 MILLION years?

 

thats sort of supporting his ase, dj. humans 'created' what we have in the last 100 years. there has been little evolution over that time, no new species forming from old ones.

however scientists have been able to simulate many steps of the formation of life in the laboratory, not even that recently. there are many questions that we cant answer yet. but 10 billion years is a hell of a long time. its so long that you cant comprehend it, you can only really calculate meaningless sums with it.

the universe is not a dice machine. if you win the lottery, you had a 1/1 chance of winning it as far as the universe is concerned. probabilities are only a matter of the future. it doesnt matter how unlikely it is that a set of chances occur in a certain order, after theyve happened. there is no 'probability' of god having existed verses a 'probability' that the universe could have led to life. the universe has life.

is that to say, the only person who can believe that they won the lottery is a person who bought like a million million lottery tickets (or whatever the chance of winning the lottery) is? if you won the lottery on your first go, or on your second go, or on your thousanth go, its all the same thing.

 

i dont really see how my theory backs up the theory of a god?

it's all relative, like you said yes in the last 100 years it's come a long way by human creations, but who's to say what will happen in the next 10 million years?

evolution takes time, it's the same with technology, once you have the ability to move forward, it speeds up

the longest time period of in evolution i'm sure was the first cells forming, from there i'm sure it's all comparable to recent times of which in terms of time, things sped up and happened quicker with that first kick start point

 

i believe in A god but i dont think its the one anybody knows i think all the religions are wacked out and god is smokin himself retarded laughing at us all believing in some really fucked up shit. the bible is wrong (why? you may ask, well how many fucking versions do we have of it? besides its really fucking confusing, if it was the true word of god dont you think it would be really easy to understand?) the koran is wrong, the hindus are wrong the jews are wrong(im not anti-semetic, your religion is kinda outdated thats all) everyone is wrong. yes even athiests are wrong. BUT that doesnt mean that the message is worthless. the bible has some great moral teachings as does the koran and etc. but dont take it too seriously or shit like the crusades or jihad will spring up. anything philosophical is worth a read to expand your knowledge and beliefs. theres nothing wrong with any religion(well only one exception, scientology, that just fucking stupid. but im not here to hate, its just kinda far-fetched dude) believe what you will just dont take it to an extreme.

 

As others have said, what about the trillions of planets that don't have life? If god was the one creating all of this life you think that since he can theoretically create anything he would've made every planet full of life. Earth is just the luck of the draw with the right conditions. There are billions and billions of stars in the universe. Our sun is just the same fucking thing... so I don't see where you're coming from here.

Darwinism just makes sense. Logic. Is there anything backing up your argument? No.

And for the record I am not firm in my own beliefs as of now at my young age. I definitely do not believe in christianity, I see it as a load of shit used to control people way back when and still in this day and age. The way the bible is written is what leads me to believe this. It contradicts itself many times, and many of the things written in the bible are against the fundamental concepts in christianity. I.E. Christianity says love your neighbor no matter what he does, but then look at this webpage of bible quotes contradicting that fundamental rule of christianity among others. http://www.evilbible.com/

However I do believe in a god, just because everything exists, period. It's really hard to wrap your/my head around, but things like the origin of the universe and time being infinite in both directions, among other concepts that make me believe there must be something more to this universe that we don't see (god of some sort).

I am however a firm believer in science and believe that if there is a god, the god simply set all of these scientific laws we are discovering in place.

 

So basically you're saying here that because you can't understand science you gave up and moved on to religion?

That doesn't mean science isn't right..

^^ i dont get it, are you being sarcastic? anyway yes all religion is at its core very very very outdated. and i do laugh to myself everytime someone explains why their 2000+ year old religion is absolute truth (bla bla bla). im just saying you can be an athiest but still take the teachings of basic moral values to heart. i personally believe that all established religion is wrong when it comes to god but the morals are still right. hell the bible refers to weed in a positive aspect and encourages its use! if you are being mean to me cause you dont agree with my statement, then fuck you and that is why most athiests piss me off because you think YOU are god(all high and mighty.) and being a snooty bastard. but if your being sarcastic, im fine with that its all good. just dont be snooty cause your acting like an asshole christian lol

i think your missing the big picture, no sun nothing to orbit around, earth and the rest of the planets will fly all over the place possibly colliding with each other and if not spinning out of control into deep space untill colliding with a star or flying through and asteroid field. even if warmth and food wasnt an problem wed all still die pretty quickly

 

Well, i believe existence itself is a miracle. Think of EVERYBODY in this world who believes in God..i believe its in the 80 or 90%. They all believe in God because he has shown himself to them, which creates a breakable bond for thier faith.

Yes i did mean unbreakable, my b. Religion itself, is silly. There are so many religions it makes it hard to believe that theres 1 right one, and if you dont believe in it than you will be sent to hell forever. This, i do not believe. I believe religion exist to show humans the right way to live. No religion is perfect, but the morals the bible gives us are the ways he wants us to live. I believe that "hell" is just speration from God when you die, you dont get to be with him because of the ways you rejected him here on earth. But dont think a non believer will be sent to hell because they dont believe..what ever happend to "God is love" or "God is a fair God"? I believe those things over some make believe place you go when you die to punish you for eternity. I believe that if you dont accomplish Gods tasks here on earth, then he will give you countless oppurtunitys until you get it right, ill be damned if God sends a nice little buddist child who grew up only knowing that religion w/o a chance to serve God for eternal damnation.

So all you christains who believe that EVERY SINGLE PERSON that doesnt follow the bible will strictly go to hell forever and ever really need to get their head out of their ass. Religion is just simply here to help you keep your faith in the creator, its not to be taking litteral. All God wants is EFFORT to do his will.
