Evolution is a fact, not a theroy, and it's still happening to-day.

    Here's a Q for bible believers--
how did Noah get bison from N. America, jaguars from S. America, kangaroos from Austrailia and penquins from Antartica aboard the ark, and how'd he get them back after the flood?

Thats a rather dumb question to ask a believer. God had control of the situation.

And how do you know every continent wasnt seperated like it is today? Evoloutionist believe in a thing called "Pangea", am i right?

How do we know Noah's ark wasnt just a metaphor to help us keep our faith in God?

And didnt they discover the ark in Turkey? http://www.noahsark-naxuan.com/1.htm

Evolution may be fact, but how do we know it just answers the question "how" and not "why"

Pangea has nothing to do with evolutionism, it has to do geology. Honestly, repeatedly using God as the answer to every question seems like a lack of idea formulation, an excuse if you will.

i refuse to believe that the majesty of this world is because of a conscious being. it's too close to arrogance... i dont know if people are on the same wavelength as me, but it is what it is.

Yes, there was a Pangea, but that was long before humans.

There was no ark found because it never existed. The Jews adapted that story, it existed before the Bible was written, before a group of Semite's started calling themselves Jews.

I don't dispute that there have been floods. Lots of them, all over the world. But not one that covered the entire earth, not since humans existed.

The Bible is rife with lies/inaccuracies, such as:
    -the sun orbits the earth
    -the earth is flat
-it never rained anywhere on earth until Noah's time
-physics such as water refracting light did not exist before Noah's time.

Anyone who believes the Bible potray's God as a just, merciful being doesn't know the Bible.
The Bible relates dozens of instances of God commanding the Isrealite's to invade towns, kill ALL the men, take the women as whore's and enslave the children. At other times he ordered his followers to invade towns and kill every living thing--every man, woman, child and animal.

God also condems those who work on Saturday, cut their hair, eat pork or even touch pigskin.

P.S. are you aware that hell is a Christian invention? It's not mentioned in the Old Testament at all. Do you believe that God just forgot? Or there's only enough room for 144,000 people in heaven?

The Mediterranean area was the only "known" earth to those who originally wrote the fairy tale. So there were not bison, jaguars, kangaroos or penguins aboard the magic boat.
As a muslim, I have a different set of values and beliefs, but those of us who understand the true esoteric words of the Quar'an are at one with all. And yes, I realize that there aren't many, at least in the public eye :) Allah is all forgiving, we are all Allah's children, and we should all accept each other for who and what we are. Allah does not discriminate when one is dead, hell is not eternal, we are all loved and forgiven. I know non of you are with me on this, but I am just stating my opinion

hmm, i am a spiritual person, but i derive that from the beauty around me and how every tiny detail of the natural world works, and has a clockwork beauty to it

smokindude, if the world is predestined.. and god knows all that is, has been, and will ever be.. then why does he allow humans to destroy the world and the creatures in it
(i do realise that not all humans are like this, but as a species.. we're pretty fucking destructive)

by your logic, god created the world for it to be destroyed by us, since he knew what was going to happen

hm, to me the idea or a lord/god/high power is totally implausible

i dont see why so many people need a god to tell them to be loving, generous, caring people

Man, is it really so difficult to understand? How can you know pleasure without first knowing pain? How can you have peace without first having war? How can you have heaven without fear of hell? Look I dont mean heaven as in satan and fire and that bullshit, I mean your own personal demons, the urges to do wrong to people to benefit yourself. Allah has given us free will to experience how dark and cold life can be when you choose to follow the wrong path, or the wrong people leading others down the wrong path.

I'm actually white too, but my gf, or fiance, or whatever you want to call it is Syrian (she's whiter than I am tho lol), and it's she that actually showed me Islam a few years ago. And I know how bad that sounds, but we were just friends at the time and I decided to convert for myself, not just to marry her, which we are getting married over the summer btw.:)

I'm glad to see a brother on the forums.:)

When we raise our children we plan to teach them the religion and why we believe in it so, but let them decide for themselves; I don't think anything forced can be truly accepted. It was forced on my gf and due to her parents she nearly renounced the religion altogether. But in the end it strengthened both of our beliefs. I hope the best for you and your son.[IMG]

And this thread's been all over the place since the beginning. [IMG]

BTW, i base most of my beliefs on Near-Death Expiriences. If SOME of you will take the time to read some and not be so close minded, then maybe we can get somewhere. NDE's are amazing.
