long commutes suck, they dont pay you for that time, and its hard to multitask on the road. you can listen to audiobooks and podcasts i guess.

how early is too early to run a tiller on a sunday?
im trying to plan my morning ahead of time. theres some weeds to pull, some shed tear-down stuff that got rained on and needs to be shifted, and then i want to till it, and amend it.

along the west side of this area i want to build a lattice wall. we really need something to block the afternoon sun, it just fries the whole back patio and grill area. i have these tall trellis things that i think i can use to make a wall with shelves on one side (for more plants) and the lattice on the back. the backside i will plant with perennials and vines. im quite partial to honeysuckle and morning glories. might even try to grow some clematis, but my mom always struggled with those.
what kind of base do i need to make a freestanding wall, about a foot thick? what should i consider if i want to carry the downspout off the house and overhead to the far side of the garden to collect in a rain barrel? how strong do potting bench shelves need to be?

im probably biting off more than i can chew, but its got to be done before the summer progresses any farther, and i know i probably wont have help.

If you know the sheriff, you can get away with running landscaping equipment at 4am.

I had trouble with my sheriff doing just that very thing on some land he owned in my neighborhood. I called the police and they did nothing. So I wrote to the local newspaper about it, and as soon as they published my letter, he immediately stopped and complied with the law.

    thats a nice surprise.
hubby buys meat, doesnt tell me what he bought, and leaves it in the grocery bag when he sticks it in the bottom of the fridge. so i cant see it. so i have no idea what to make, and then i feel bad when things go bad. veggies and fruit too, but i dont feel as bad about that.
i just found a boneless chuck roast in there today. like, really? you bought a ROAST, in the HEAT, when you werent going to be here for 2 1/2 days? WITH the pre-teen? who the fuck is going to help me eat it? geez.
