I cannot imagine. It was assuredly not your fault, and it was meant that your missus not be there with you. I just can't get over that and I'm so sorry you had to go through that...and you were so young. Goodnightalive.

 

maybe it is legit, that unit is going on 10yrs, I had it for a while but tricky .. I want it back. or maybe i dont, thats why i sold it back out.. like I did with my other racks and muti boards..

 

I was only doing 60kmh. I remember I had to turn right about 1km up the road. Maybe I was looking in my right mirror at the time and missed him in front of me. That was the one question that couldn't be answered. They all ask "how did you not see? What were you doing?" my only response was "I don't know, I just didn't see it".

I knew I wasn't going to be in trouble even the police told me that in my interview on the spot. But I had just hit someone and they were right there dead. A lady police officer was really nasty to me.

The next day my car was in the paper, all they focused on was the P plate which signified a young new driver. That's all the article cared about, no facts, no knowledge, they just blasted me as my fault.

On the Monday morning I was up watching the race quietly and my mum came out to ask if I was okay? It was early, probably weird that I was up. I was alright I was just watching the race. Jeff winning just washed all my emotion away. Right then and there, I knew it was all special to me.

I want to tell him that, one day.

I love auto racing, but I never condone stupid driving on the streets. Ive seen first hand a low speed impact, and it's not nice. I even cringe when I'm not driving through a red light at night.

The next night my dad told my miss to take me out get my mind off it. A year later to the day, to the hour I stopped by the accident scene. I said I was sorry. I never got a response. If all the stories were true he freed himself, just sucks it was at my expense.

 

Seems cheap though...

Irm- im very sorry you experienced that. i dont think there are good words to express how terrible i find that whole situation.

 

Had the final walkthrough. One small issue but not a deal-breaker. Should have the keys mid-afternoon tomorrow. Then the real work begins haha.

He was 67yrs old. And was 4x over the alcohol limit. Coroner hearing said would have been dead on impact, no suffering.

 

The old Digitech 2120 sells for over $400... If you can find one, that is.

If he had wanted to off himself he would have more likely laid down under the wheels, the fact that he jumped up and aimed for your windscreen suggests it was more likely an insurance scam.

Happens a lot in Sydney, my department has to deal with part of it.

They dont understand how the law really works, and they have no idea just how many traffic cameras there are.

Even if the driver is speeding, if the driver is travelling in a straight line and its not over a pedestrian crossing. Zero chance of the driver being found negligent.

And they dont get the insurance money they think they are going to get, because thats paid out by the third party insurers

 

It was just the lady told us he often layed on the same bit of road I hit him on.

My dad wanted to sue the venue he was drinking at. I just didn't want to drag it out. So once I was free, I tried leave it behind me.
