our results would be the same or worse imo…...greed makes people use pesticide......mine this year is 100% organic but likely would have trace shit from the surrounding fields....eve the emerald cup rejected a bunch of applicants who thought they were organic growers....only organic growers can enter the emerald cup

someone from starbucks knew something about coffee? (shock) least the experience with the ones around here.. that's a shock. but yeah, the lighter the roast, the stronger the caffeine content. the heating process breaks it down the hot water's not enough to do it, but the roasting temps are.

honestly? I use whatever's on sale. since the bitter compounds are heat extracted, I don't have to care so much. I mean use decent coffee of course, but It's a bit more forgiving than the hot brews.

    Sort of... sort of not.

By weight the caffeine stays the same regardless of roast, if the roasting is done right. Darker roasts make for a larger bean because they puff up more during a longer roasting cycle, so by volume a lighter roast will have more caffeine.

Note: a darker roast is from a longer cycle, not a higher temperature, if done right... Allow for greed and companies tend to cut cycles short and use a higher temp which fucks everything up.

Who knew coffee can be so complicated.

As a side note, many ground coffees are roasted medium and then roasted again at very high temps after grinding to make the darker roasts. This high temp reheating/roasting destroys the coffee entirely, so a dark roast Folgers/Maxwell House/whatever is totally worthless garbage with very little caffeine.
