Lynn and I are both in the upstate away from the coast, we'll get those outer bands of rain and flooding might be a concern but other that than its all good here

And the power company is being proactive, thats a fucking first. Came home to a sign on the door that they'll be back to trim the trees around the power lines tomorrow. So I might even make it through this storm without losing power. Hooray.

Its looking like Wilmington, NC is going to take the brunt of it. I love Wilmington. Sad.

cold brew's super easy too.. here's how I make mine (not saying you dont' know, but just a handy place to put a recipe for other people)

take a gallon jug, put in one pound of the grounds of your choice, top off with cold water, park in the fridge for 24 hours. strain. dilute (or not) to your preference. I used to live on that stuff in college. and because the bitter compounds only extract at higher temps, it doesn't taste like ass when you heat it up.

 

also - save your coffee grounds, use them as fodder for a worm bin or for starting mushrooms. take oyster mushroom stems and bury directly in the coffee grounds in a closed ziplock, when the bag turns white, open it up and let it pop out a little cluster of mushrooms. dump spent grounds into compost, recycle bag for another round of grounds and stems.

I just checked the local forecast and now they're saying we're likely going to be in the danger zone here for a high amount of rain and flooding ..damnit.
My stupid sister (shes not really stupid but she's being stupid now) is still sitting in her house 15 minutes from the beach, eating her hurricane snacks

 

some day. id like to just spend money on myself. instead of throwing hundreds away on this house monthly..
