after babies my boob-flesh migrated to my armpit. so volume-wise im somewhere between a standard b and standard c cup. but an underwire on a c cup digs into the boob flesh under my armpit.

i looked up a variety of methods of measure, and they all sync up. there are "sister sizes" so if you go up in band you go down a cup, but its ultimately all contributing to the bras are uncomfortable stereotype. breast support should be customized, we are all shaped different.
