I kind of like the light blue with silver but I don't think it would suit me. I'm all for going grey when I'm older, but I don't think it'd work right now lol. Plus, lady gaga.. I don't want the association.

Omg they said all fine but it might take 3-6 months to prepare my hair for the color... I've never heard of that. Thought they just whiten out the bottom half of my hair and then color. Ugh. What if I don't even want it in 3-6 months? Lol.

I know it feels like there is no crawling out of the dark hole this time, but that's what depression does - it fucks up your perception of reality. You have children who love you, and who you love, so even if you don't feel like living for you right now, try and focus on living for them.

I hope things ease a bit for you soon. Please let me know if there is anything I can possibly do to help.

Talking of colouring your hair! I had very dark hair growing up, my 3 sisters were naturally blonde, people used to say I photo bombed the family photos, lol I also looked very different, ..
So now, im blonde, didn't like the specled grey look.. now I look like one of my sister's!

Dang @Mother's Love .. I've been deep down in that dark hole of depression, but not as much riding on my survival - kids, hubs, etc. I know that often professionals will say you "shouldn't think of others" - or some type of shit equal to that - when you're really depressed and thoughts of death seem to remain with you constantly. However, speaking as one that once had a professional job in the mental (and vocational) health area...that is total damn bullshit. Please DO think of how much the kids need you. Of course, think of the adults, too...but its the kids that need your guidance and love the most. What in the world would some fool do with your wonderful, thinking second-born son, I wonder...keep him miserable in public school and probably medicate him out of who he is. I daresay not even his daddy could do what you do - homeschool and teach that boy its GOOD to be who you are, while at the same time you discipline him showing both intelligence and compassion.

Its those we would leave behind that we (or in this case you) must consider. Speaking solely as me (and I do totally agree with Dice and Mel) - when the depression and death thoughts are overwhelming and its relatively impossible to even see the edge of the hole...please never forget about those precious babies and how you are literally the only one that can raise them best. Even on the worse days, I know in my heart, YOU ARE THE BEST for them. period. Then look all around at your yard and home and it is amazing what you have accomplished with just a bit of money but a lot of determination and ingenuity.

I refuse to believe anybody is beyond help of good thoughts (and prayer)...so I'm going to keep on keeping you at the front of my mind. I'm just so very sorry you are going through this...and for good measure, I'd like to give your hubs a little talk-to (you know - just one of those "come home to Jesus talks he wouldn't forget for a long long time :) ) .

You are one of the best, smartest and definitely most needed people around...

I'm not there physically, but I'm definitely going to be working on my sending thoughts over distance skills.

    Love you, MoLo.

I think you should both research that and go to another shop. That sounds like absolute, total bullshit. I don't for one moment believe its going to take 3-6 months to "prepare hair for color". You are 100% right in basically what they do when hair is colored...they lighten hair and then color it whatever color you have chosen. UNLESS you are blond and then want it darker...in that case, they mix the color with the developer and apply it.

I don't know why they'd have to bleach your hair that much, especially since purple is a dark color. If you were wanting pink hair, and starting with black/dark brown hair, I could understand it taking longer to bleach to prep hair for that much difference. BUT NOT 3-6 months. I'd ask wth kind of color and/or technique do they use!!! That is so strange. I may even pose this question to my BIL who works with color, cuts, etc in a frou-frou salon in San Diego.

However, as it stands...what they told you about the 3-6 months makes no sense. None.

I used to color my hair all the time. Then I grew up and got a real job where they don't allow that sort of thing. Wish I could go back to wearing Chucks, tight jeans with studded belts, punk rock t-shirts, and purple hair. Maybe when I retire.

Thats what everyone wants to see a 65 year old woman look like, right?

That's how the woman across the street dresses. And she lurks in her garage all day smoking cigs. Pops out to wave at anyone passing by this dead end cul-de-sac... very annoying. She also wears platform sneakers to make her about 6 inches taller, even then she is shorter than most kids.

Old people, what are you gonna do?

ML- You're one of the stronger women. I've told you how much I admire your "I'll do it myself!" attitude and the smart way you reuse things and make-do.

I notice some of your previous posts where you're hitting the alcohol pretty hard.

My only suggestion would be to try not to indulge much in that. It's a depressant. I just remember you being so strong without it (when you were carrying Baby Oz).

    Great Big Hugs for You!!!
