    We dont have unions here.
And I know how American workers in this line of work function. They'll overcharge me and they'll drag it out so they can charge even more

I dont need all that, I just need a crew of hard workers to come in and do the hard/tedious physical work as quickly as possible

Well, here there's a shortage of construction people. So certain people/companies have kind of a good reason to look over the border. They can both pay well AND still save money because the east europeans ask less.
I'm living with slowakian construction workers in the building for more than half a year now.. (first in my previous building which got sold to my current landlord, and then in this one. My new landlord made me an offer i couldn't refuse in order to get me out of that other building as quick as possible) :p Key is: they're not illegal. Just cheaper.

I'll probably just finish it myself, just an idea i've been floating
I thought I could maybe ask if their wives could make me tamales too so I had an ulterior motive

I got a flu shot once and had the flu a week later. Don't mean this as an argument against the general use of them. Just saying, this happens too.

I honestly think it depends on your own principles wether it is morally right or not. I think I would not go with illegal immigrants myself. As I see them as a problem and drain on the system. I'm for foreigners immigrating to my country for work, but not if they can't get in legally. If you think about this differently you might reach a different conclusion.

    Nah
I wont get into my reasons in this thread but I dont see them as a drain here and I probably wouldnt feel like it was morally wrong as long as I paid them a living wage. And they gave me homecooked tamales
Mainly I just dont know how to go about finding a crew lol so I guess I'll do it myself gosh

I've worked alongside some mexican "illegals" when I lived in Phoenix AZ... some had legit paperwork, some didn't.

Never in my life have I known a harder working, and nicer bunch of guys. They will do exactly what you want them to do and at the quality you tell them to do. I always hear 'muricans bitching about low quality workmanship from "illegals" and that's not necessarily true. The 'murican guy that hired them is the one that tells them to cut corners and do shoddy work. When told to do quality work, they will do that to amazing levels of craftsmanship.

I can't say they are all great, but the ones I have know were.

These slovakians here work 6 days a week from 7 am til 7 pm... Yes, these buildings get thoroughly renovated (on the inside at least :p). They're hard workers no doubt, and deliver quality. But no dutch construction worker would work so much for this pay. If you work 6 days from 7 til 7 you get more than average for at least some of the extra hours. Something is off about that in the end.

its because they want to keep the job..
If you been doing construction for so long, many in the field dont keep a passion for it.
Ive 4 roofer trucks in my neighborhood all white bois..
Who I call to temp fix my leaking roof. a black man..
The black man has to put food on his table, pay bills. he dont live with his mom and dad like the white bois.
black man much more thrilled to get the job done I asked for and keep me as a call back client. and I will .. oh I will..

Desperation and lack of options makes a lot of people work harder, yes.

You can do lots of effects after the fact/post production in a lot of cases. Live production is another story. I don't know how to use it as a "pedal", but I love Ableton's reverb setup. Problem to mouse through your effects on stage though. Works well for soundcloud! :D
