Why can't I just trim the buds off and let the dry?

I want to know. I want to understand!

you can....I use all the methods so if one fucks up I have back up.....many peple cut the buds and put them on the table and hand trim each one.....i do that too...….

when the stalk on the buds will snap then its dry and can be bagged...…...you dont leave the roots on the plant imo….....you want the plant to die...not live for 3 days upside down until the roots give out.....to rinse the you run water over the soil until it is running profusely out the bottom …...you should have stopped with nutrients by now ...rinse today and let the soil dry right out...no more water after the rinse..none

Same as Rolling.. We end up doing different things though.. Mostly because we don't have space for them to all hang for as long as I'd like.

Ja, I think I might just trim and dry.
Now what's this curing stage? Last time I cut and dried hut accidently left it too long and it overdry.

not really such thing as over dry. I guess some, but medically cannabis is dry to prevent mold and those issue that would be harmful to a sick person ..

the only true way to dry is thru experience after experience. and as eggs said its different for every home grower..

nice air circulation around, away from dust and dog hair is where you like it to be.

I think it's mostly about the taste. Weed dried too quickly won't taste as good.

curing is letting the weed sit so the cell walls break down so it tastes and smells and smokes better....the hardest thing for me s a grower is waiting to cure....I aways rush some for personal and I always pay with a raw throat and cough

Oh okay, so basically I don't want to let it dry too much?

…...what happens is the buds dry more on the outside than the inside......so we go by the stalk instead....after it will snap and is bagged or bottled the weed will even out in moisture with all the other weed surrounding it..you will instinctively know if it is too wet...dont seal weed thats too wet

The few times I've grown, I hung the whole plant upside down from the shower curtain pole....plenty of air and there is a window in there that I would open to let fresh air in, plus there is a good bright light in there. Of course at night when I would bathe, I'd move the plants out temporarily. I would also run a fan on low to keep air circulating, and I'm sure it helped to dry everything.

I don't know stuff like Ori and rolling do...and I know they know what they are talking about...but I always dried mine upside down. Plus I always felt like or wished I'd harvested the buds (and maybe the plant?) before I did because when I WANTED to harvest them (but didn't) they would feel sticky and smell great. But I always (almost always) wound up waiting and wondering if it would have been stronger had I harvested it before I did.

The buds I DID harvest when they were super sticky...and I would later lightly bake them to dry them - they were always strong.

    Good luck @Irminsul!

I saw that rat again this evening, at dusk. Reading that once you see a rat in the daylight hours then you've got a problem. My dog jumped at the small hedge and I saw the rat run across my rabbit hutches and then leap of faith in my big hedges like a possum. So I baited the hedge line.

It may have sent a younger scout rat into my trap box to die but it has not out smarted me just yet, oh no it has not. I will kill it. And it's whole rodent family I swear to gods!

What if dogs don't actually think of us as companions but as gods. Those immortal beings that never seem to age too much over their life time. Do they speak to their pups like, she is a God who has looked over my life and my children's life and my family before.

Or more like... Look if you want attention this is what you do to piss her off. :p now she gone come down hard on you, but! There's hugs and treats in it for you a bit later.

  18. Dogs don't think of us like that. They're a lot smarter than you think.

Since dog is god spelled backwards...then there should be no surprise they are fantastic, wonderful creatures.

I think they do realize and sense a lot more than we think they do. However, that being said...in all reality, we ARE gods to them. We determine everything about their fate...well, most things, and I'd bet anything they realize that. They know when someone loves them, and when someone has them that doesn't give a damn.

Just like these dang insane cats realize they are able to aggravate the shit out of me until I'll let one out or seclude him/her. Since Gimli is the WORST EVER, I won't seclude him because he has a "gift" for making a space smell like pure cat piss/spray.

I'm really worried about BB...she has lost much weight over this past year, which started with the addition of 5 more cats...and now lately I've noticed she hasn't been able to keep her food down too well. I have to hand-pick what to feed her, and take it in another room - away from all of the others, and work with just her. She hasn't tried to dash outside in some time. I think she realized its MUCH BETTER inside, and I was going to go and annoy her until she came in. Anyway, even though I believe in keeping all of the shots and vaccines, etc up to date on all the animals here, I haven't put BB through that. (She doesn't go outside, except for the rare occasion when I am immediately getting her back in, so there is no need for a rabies shot. My vet told me they don't give leukemia shots to cats over 9, so she is too old for that.) She doesn't travel well, and tbh I've never had a speck of luck when taking one of my cats to the vet, aside from getting them fixed and getting required shots. So...I doubt very seriously I'd have "luck" with BB. She is fine right right now, but she still is on my heart and mind.

Gimli (Mr. 24 toes) has a cry like a siren. I've brought him in for the night, but if he keeps on, like it seems he will...I'm going to let him out, with prayers and "Go with God." Okay...I let him out. Dear God...I can't handle but so much.
