How (do you suppose) this is that different from organ donation? You can take someones heart/lung/kidney/etc., but not their stem cells?

I do think very strict controls, and very clear consent progrmas need to be created... like with organ donation.

Unlike a sperm or egg, and embryo only needs a proper environment and nutrition to develop as a human. It never transforms into another type of organism altogether.

You said that embryos "were the best way right now" to obtain stem cells. I disputed this and provided you with evidence to the contrary, which you've yet to actually engage.

A sperm doesn't 'tranform' into some other organism either. It is as human as any other cell in your body. Any cell in your baody can be taken and cloned into another human being so stop shedding those skin cells and killing innocent life-potential!

I haven't seen much weight in any of your sources. Human embryonic stem cell research is the ABSOLUTE KEY to understand the mechanisms which allow a cell to take on specialization. Once we understand this we can generate stem cells from any cell in your body. Until then the application of stem cell therapy is VERY limited.

A sperm (or a skin cell) ceases to exist when it is genetically altered through fertilization (or cloning). These processes undeniably create new organisms.

Compelling. You dismiss my sources without consideration and simply spew forth contrary assertions.

Another one who believes that God talks to Bush...I can almost here the Almighty saying, "Stop fucking doing that!" I think he uses the same words in the Bible when people tried to build the Tower of Babel.

Do you think God wants him to be president, too?

Jerry Falwell told Bush, "don't do that."

Millions of human embryos have been destroyed in the name of in vitro fertilization. Yet the religious right doesn't complain about that. They only complain about the ones that are used for scientific research, which is a tiny fraction of those destroyed for in vitro purposes.
