My unpopular opinion of the day - I think Dairy Queen is overrated.

 

I claim nothin' more about myself than to be a simple man who talks as honestly as I can. Most folks don't much like simple, direct, & honest.

 

Grocery store vs home grown tomatoes (tah-may-toes) are two different foods, as far as I am concerned.

Same goes for peaches.

 

but church's chicken is very much needed in my life.

AK is more reliable than pretty much any other rifle known to man

 

And the Vietcong still couldn't inflict the results needed for an outright victory even when the M16 jammed every 12th round and the M60 couldn't make it through the scrub.

Putting things too simply and be simple, direct and honest are slightly different things. If a consumer drops by unexpected a farmer can have several reasons to say no, i can't show you this or that. Being simple, direct and honest in their communication might very well apply there as well
I also think most people actually like simple, direct and honest.
And just because someone is honest doesn't mean they're always right in their assertions about others.
