Why was the birth of a certain baby boy to a virgin 100's of years ago made such a huge worldwide event - what was all the fuss about - 100's of baby's have been conceived without the mother having sex
My unpopular opinion- Developed nations have been squeezing poor countries like Africa, since centuries together. Robbing them of natural resources, robbing them of their native culture, polluting the earth and sneering at them for being poor ! Now the time is changing. The very definition of development/ progress is being questioned. Soon, these "developed nations" will have come out of shell, serve poor countries or perish.
I used to think that legalization was the way to go until I realized that the corporations are just going to take over the trade, jack up the price, run everyone else out of business and still make it illegal for you to grow your own. I kind of like the whole 'unofficially tolerated' thing they've got going on now... but I do think there would be less crime if all drugs were legal.
So it's better to let the government profit from it, and imprison non-violent people? Yeah, I expect this much from you...
I grew up with the toleration system and I kind of like it too. As a dutch person it is easy to say it is better that it has been tolerated as it has been for decades here, rather than making it simply illegal for instance. The disadvantages of it not being totally legal are: no quality check but big money, thus makes criminals grow quick and unhealthy pot. This is sold legally in the coffeeshops here. Because it is illegal to grow they often grow it in hidden places in average neighbourhoods without taking proper safety precautions. Because it is big money they not only try to grow as quick and many as possible but also battle eachother for the market. So indeed more criminal activity overall. If it was completely legal it would be taxed but there would be more certainty about the quality and characteristics/specialisations of the weed we are buying. No massive growing in unsave locations. No criminal organisations going for easy profit by secretly fucking up the product and threatening other growers with violence.
Leggings are perfectly acceptable as pants, if they are actually leggings. If they are so transparent you can see through them, they aren't leggings, they are tights. Tights are not pants.
i only said that because i wound her up, so i thought i would say something nice, just looked at pp and youre right, but if i had known i would not of said what i said
today's world is returning to a level of cultural diversity that is healthy, even as it is destroying itself by attempting to deny that diversity. there is no opinion, nor even position based upon verifiable observation, that will not be unpopular with some, and popular with others. i could state absolutely anything, and there would be those who would hate me for it, those who would love me for it, and those who could care less. (presumably the latter would be in the majority) so i concern myself more with what seems real on its own merrits, then on trying to keep track of what comes in and out of popularity. how can i know that anything i might state is unpopular? i cannot. and those have little to gain by attempting to conform to the moving target of what is. rather there is only one thing to conform to, and that is the avoidance of causing harm. normality is a myth. is that a popular statement or an unpopular one? does it make a dimes worth of difference whether it is popular of not? it IS an honest observation., people have for a great many thousands of years, mistaken the myth of normality for a judgement of the reality of sanity or the lack of it. there is such a thing as sanity. it means not stumbling over your emotional shoe laces. but it has absolutely nothing to do with attempting to imitate others, nor with consciously attempting to avoid doing so.
