Dunno.. haven't got one Probably, but that's because of an emotional attachment.. on a basic level they're still all ugly and parasitic
Sometimes i think all of the top elite/most powerful people of each country are atheists. I say this because they know billions are suffereing but their greed is to strong to help. They don't believe they are going to be punished for anything they do on earth. So they contine to take baths in their money....
My unpopular opinion - Prog (the genre) sucks. Truly progressive music rules, but for some reason Prog rock rejects that in favor of extended wank contests.
I don't think prog is popular enough for that opinion to be rated (as far as being known as a genre) Anyways, I think that's ludicrous. Most all genres have their share of good and bad -- but progressive has some amazing work in it's list. Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Rush, King Crimson, Supertramp, Focus, Yes, Genesis, Tool; these are some amazing bands.
It's partly because I don't really like any of those bands (some of them are okay) and partly because most progressive music is reactionary, doing something because it goes against convention rather than having a real purpose. Truly progressive music I love. Give me Tangerine Dream, Varese, Webern, Xenakis, Autechre, Albert Ayler, Captain Beefheart. None of those artists are labeled as 'progressive' however, thankfully.
Though I know some of those a bit; Captain Beefheart, I'm rather familiar with, and I just don't know if progressive would be the right word for it. In fact, I think, as awesome his experiments were, he would fit the description of going against convention more than many progressive rock bands; in particular Rush, Pink Floyd (who's style became more conventional over time, but was mostly still pretty original), and Genesis (same as Pink Floyd). And Tool and Supertramp definitely had their own things going; regardless to how mainstream was. I would agree however, that progressive rock is not usually the most progressive of bands.
