About Quentin Tarantino movies... No thank you. He's got potential, yes. But he's disregarding the mainstream at the expense of a significant margin of his fanbase. Not everyone wants hear it how Tarantino is telling it. Some will settle. I will forgo the ticket price...

 

Lol How is disregarding the mainstream a bad thing for a passionate movie director.

Not everyone needs to like Tarantino's way of telling it. A good movie doesn't have to appeal to everyone.

But I actually am not sure if he really disregards the mainstream that much. He should anyway.

 

yeah the mainstream doesn't know what it likes, it gets told what to like.
that's why it's always changing.
people who like specific arts and genres know what they like.

maybe this is an unpopular opinion with the mainstream.

 

Using the term breeders, consistently, makes you a turnip.

The mainstream is multifaceted, kind of like the majority. Sometimes we're part of it and sometimes not.
The silly thing about Soulcompromises opinion is that he's applying it on the movies of a director who's movies fit in the cult genre. It's not ment to be liked by everyone. Yet, also funny, Tarantino's directing and movies are now appreciated by such a big audience it could solely in that regard be seen as mainstream these days. Which may be why Soul thinks Tarantino should cater to/consider the cares of the mainstream. I think if we look at a film like Django Unchained, he's already doing that. Just not in the way Soul would prefer.
