Because I just looked in the mirror only to see an octogenarian Australian aboriginal starring back at me.
Well, put it this way Fast forward another 300,000 years and if the only humans that exist are descendants of those today that don't have any Neanderthal or Denosivan DNA. Then what? Sub Saharan Africans are the only ones that dont
I think I have a preservation of the species complex because I know I won't be having children. Does that ever bother you VG?
Me, not breeding, oh god no. New born babies are magical, but 2yrs old and above, get that friggin thing away from me. Bah humbug Anyway, that scenario above, 300,000 years into the future, there are millions of reasons why it will happen, zero reasons it wont. Not like any higher order animal has de-evolved in the last 500 million years. We want to think now because we sent three guys in a tin can to the moon that humans have the know how the beat evolution. Pffftt
But if a tree falls in the woods and there is no one there to hear it, does it make a sound? I know it seems unimportant or like both are right. In truth, there is no biological foundation for race. The OP, or rather person stating that particular opinion admits that it's at odds with social science. Not only is that the honest truth, but in fact most scientists will tell you so. Race Is a Social Construct, Scientists Argue I hypothesize that some people (usually not young people though) hang on to the racial construct because it favors them in some way (i.e. they've noticed that there are privileges in being one or the other "race"), or some variation on their preferences in friendship or relationships. It's sad because so long as one hangs on to it, another will recognize the tune and join in. I feel like it's a travesty. Here is more on the subject. ...and sadly, I fear the horse is already dead (so, beating a dead horse...)
Which reminds me, apparently Kate Middleton is pregnant again already Suffers from chronic morning sickness, think she'd want to keep her legs closed for at least 6 months each time
And I've always said, if I'm reincarnated I want to come back as a black man. And be a rap superstar.
No shit. She already has 2 boys to carry on the family name, now get your tubes tied, woman. She's spent the bulk of her adult life now with severe morning sickness. Ugh
Well, no I'm not really. But because I've taken a course in it I've taken it upon myself to share what I've learned as part of my being socially responsible. It's come up at dinner... oh gosh. I remember we had a guest and low and behold me correcting the guest on the use of the term 'Asian' (which is really common but not really pc and far from accurate as there are a shit ton of religions and areas in 'Asia') to describe someone of I forget what ethnicity... I learned a valuable lesson about letting things slide that time. Later that same meal there was an outburst of sorts about a bisexual person. I couldn't believe my ears! It was as if our good friends were intolerant (they aren't), but anyway... that time I said nothing. Discretion is the better part of valor; it's true. I guess I have a tender spot around intolerance for the most part. I don't think I'm wrong for being emotionally driven about that honestly; not that you implied otherwise.
And social science is, by and large, at odds with biology and genetics. Also, appealing to "most scientists" is a logical fallacy. Geneticists are able the see race in genes. Social scientists aren't looking that deep. Yes, we all share 99.9% of the same DNA. But look how much variation that .1% can cause. Hell, chimps share something like 96% with us. Look at what a 4% difference means. Ask any ME who is asked to identify human remains that have been degraded. They are, at the very least, able to tell you sex and race. "These skeletal remains are that of a black male, between the ages of 30 and 40." Why? Because race is real.
