Still cheaper to buy 1 euro cheeseburgers than anything "organic" I can easily feed myself on a 5euro meal deal. I know I'm pushing a minimum 8 euro to make something myself if you consider I need to go to the market to buy fresh produce and meat. Even the packet of sauce I might use will be more expensive than a cheeseburger.
I honestly don't even know the difference. Healthy. Organic.. Sounds like they're both coming out of the ground either way. Still at the end of the day, it'll cost more to pick fresh fruit, vege and meat from the supermarket than it would to spend 2euros on 2 cheeseburgers. That's all I'm saying, it's cheaper for families to eat out.
Yes, organic is pricey. But there's more healthy stuff. The only thing it costs more than having a 'meal' at McDonalds is energy. Changing routines isn't easy, especially not if it means not getting it fast, ready and cheap in one place.
Now you're just acting oblivious on purpose Fruit is healthy, regardless wether its organic or not. Organic bananas are pricey, but other supermarkets (or often even the same supermarket) have like 5 for 1 euro. Just one example. Looking into it like this you can find very affordable vegetables and other stuff too. But yes, picking up a tasty meal at a fastfood joint costs less effort and energy.
I realise that lol, I'm just saying it's cheaper for families to go to mcdonalds. I don't think it's a good thing, I don't know why fresh produce has to be so expensive. I believe this is a reason so many people aren't in shape or are unhealthy because if you can't make ends meet then the mcdonalds etc. is your best outlet and best bet, I think every kid enjoys a happy meal. And unfortunately it's not that good for you but it's what has to happen for folks to eat. Personally I prefer fresh salad rolls at the filling stations, but sometimes the roll is more expensive than a meal and I still want another one.
Not oblivious to anything. If you have one basket of carrots and one basket of organic carrots, what's the difference? What is "organic"? And why are organic carrots more expensive?
Actually, its not. Its often even cheaper to buy affordable food in bulk. Percentwise its cheaper to buy and cook for 4 or 6 peeps than for 1 or 2.
Infiltration is the solution. Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.
Okay you can have it then. But when you're averaging 7 to 8 dollars to make a meal and mcdonalds meal is 5 dollars then the mcdonalds meal is cheaper to buy every day. If you're budgeting on a shop to be less than that, you're probably better off eating the mcdonalds. Lol. If I wanted to eat a small portion of mash potato, a salad or a few vegetables and maybe a small piece of meat or fish, at the end of the week that's probably going to cost me more than mcdonalds meal. And that's just me. If I double this with my one partner, then those mcdonalds meals are looking a lot cheaper. 2 parents and 3 kids? Off to KFC for a bucket o chicken, fam! 8$
Organic produce has no use of pesticides etc. More expensive because they probably suffer higher losses
I'm not too concerned about that. I wash all my vegetables and steam or boil them. This last year I grew my own chilli's, tomatoes, cauliflower, capsicums and brocoli. I'm going to figure out lettuce, carrots and Celery for next season.
Frozen vegetables are good if you're trying to get cost down, and just as healthy. Also they won't go bad. If you buy healthy ingredients for a week's worth of meals, it's going to work out cheaper than eating out every day. Thinking of it in terms of one meal vs one meal doesn't work.
