It was still absolutely fabulous and I love how it all fit together with 4,5 and 6...and now that its over I have this great urge to watch 4, 5, and 6...to bad I only own number 2...lol.

I wished they'd spent more time developing Grievious; he was such a cool character but there is no explanation in the movie as to why he has a heart and lungs (apparently, the cartoon explains it).

I was also disapointed that they didn't get into how the alliance was formed - it would have been interesting to see. It would reason that remaining elements of the seperatist (the more idealist of them) would band together to create the allaince, but then again, they were mostly trade organizations that would probably rather make lucrative deals with the empire then fight the empire. In addition all the leaders were killed - so i guess they were wiped out.

It's always bothered me that the effects just dont match up. I would have much rather seen watered down effects with more emphasis on plot and character developement. Good acting would have been nice too.

Chewbacca had no buisness in this movie, we don't learn anything about him that we didn't already know. This is one of the several "novelty" links in the newer films. Links that serve no purpose in the story other then to connect 1, 2, and 3 to 4, 5, and 6. It was just rediculous.

I guess the hard part was to make an exciting, suspense-filled movie while also tying up the lose ends and make the two trilogies fit. To make matters worse, everyone knew what was going to happen so making it exciting and suspense-filled was challenging (the only folks surprized by the ending of this movie were the same folks who were surprised by the end of The Passion of the Christ). Lucas produced an entertaining film with the opportunity to see Anakin's turn twards the darkside. In addition - this movie, albeit science fiction, shows and example of what can happen when a governing state has a standing army. Personally, I prefere the unadulterated 4,5, and 6 - thank you.

Compliments come first. G. Lucas, has accomplished a LOT for the film industry.
His talents aren't Writing though. He'll never be Gene Roddenberry.

While the love scenes were cheesey, they were nothing compared to AotC (compare 3 corny love lines to 19, big improvement). But all in all, I think this one tied for 1st with The Empire Strikes Back.

I saw in in the premier night. And I loved it. It made me cry. Yes, we all knew what was going to happen, and I don't expect a super-mega-good quality in acting and character development, from a blockbuster like that, but I cried! And I was soooo tense. And I loved it because it created the feeling in me, that even though I knew that anakin was goint to become darth wader, I didn't want him to.

Its definately good, the effects were undoubtably awesome. The dialogue was a little weak as in all of the prequels. Awesome just because it wraps things up and connects the dots, still can't really see how that little Anakin in the phantom menace becomes Vadar but still it was good. Obi wan is by far the nastiest I've come to conclude throughout the whole series. It would be vadar but he still wasnt even that nasty after he got all the machine going for him in the later episodes. Seriously Obi wan owns 2 sith (Maul and Vadar since he did adopt his sith name in this new one before getting massacred), learned from one of the greatest Jedi, was a general during the clone wars, and watched over Anakin's son that would be the soft spot to save the entire future of the galaxy. Lets all give Obi wan a round of applause. The only real upset was that there wasn't more Empire strikes backesque Training sequence, whereas instead of Luke learning directly from master yoda, anakin learns darkside from the emporer. I wish they had some more training excercises, and like some Sith history or something. They should've mentioned Darth Bane. Still though I hate anyone who rags on this film, its a bit slow in the beginning and the grevious scenes are a little weak, but still entertaining. DONT EVEN TRY IT I HAVE THE HIGHER GROUND, looks like Obi wan was the only one who could pull that off in episode 1. That was Anakins stupid mistake.

oh yeah...as we all know, light sabers aer so hot it scabs up the blood from all the wounds they create intantly, but how come in A New Hope, when Obi Wan cuts off the guys arm [i cant think of his name now] in the cantina, there is a huge puddle of blood...

I think because the character was fleshed out over the past 30 years .. I would not be suprised if Geoarge read the countless 'other stories' and other more creative writers interpretations of the whole saga and altered certain things to give it mor gravitas. i am not sure though.. I never read the whole original draft for the whole thing .. or do i know if he ever did write the whole thing in one go ?. Maybe 'nimrod' knows ???

I had a bunch of friends who went to the premiere when we were in Amsterdam last week. 4 out of 5 fell asleep by the end. One said it was "quite possibly the worst directed movie I have ever seen". They all complained about Anakin's transition to Darth Vader and couldn't understand how, when Lucas spends sooo much money, he could fuck it up so badly.

I saw an interview with Lucas on the BBC about 2 weeks ago. He basically said that he had never intended to do more with Star Wars than the original 3 and that the media had kinda trapped him into doing a backstory.

Yeah I cried. I cried the most the most probably when Obi One, chopped off Anakin's legs and was saying "I never wanted to do this you were like a brother to me Anakin!" yeah that got to me

Yeah right.. i also heard him say it was all aimed at 12 year olds..thats why the ideas are and the narrative are fairly simple... Good verses bad bad redeeming themselves in the end blah blah blah. Nobody forced him to do it, it was his ego . If he was 'forced' why not get some decent writer/director to do it ?... maybe i am a bit harsh ?.. but after seeing him in countless 'behind the scenes' and him 'communicating' with his 'people' the mans a jumped up egomaniac who thinks he is a 'creative genius'..

first of all, fucking excellent film, i cant stand it when people rip on the new trilogy. the first trilogy was a kids film, and the new trilogy is going to be a kids film as well (possibly not ep3 lol). george lucas wrote the prequels to show how it all happened but also to give a whole new generation the wonder of star wars that the rest of us feel.

i saw ep3 on friday, and while the dialogue was a bit cheesy and anakin's decision to turn wasnt very subtle, i dont care, because it's star wars. from the opening titles (BAAAAH, bah bah bah...) to the end credits i was enthralled, not a single second disapointed me. i loved those the first few moments, seeing the two fighters in graceful formation, then diving headlong into the battle raging below. i was surprised at how graphic it was as well, showing crispy fried stumpy anakin in all his painful glory, but for me, seeing him 'cleansing' the jedi temple and generally doing lots of evil shit helped me see just how evil vader is - for the most part we only ever saw him force-choking his own men, and they were all evil fucks anyway.

it was nice to finally see alderaan, and i liked the way they showed obi-wan taking anakins lightsaber. my friend swears he saw the falcon at the beginning (just after the battle of corouscant) but i dont believe him lol. who else spotted tarkin on the bridge of the star destroyer at the end?

well i fucking loved it, its good to see the story come full circle, i'm just sad there wont be any more films:(

the force will be with you, always
