I'll have to agree on the voice for Vader as one of his most dominant features. As I sit here and think of other actor voices, no one comes close to James Earl Jones.
Well they killed off chewy in the comics and there was a slight mention of it in books afterwards...no houses burned.
That being said how do you feel about the Porgs, you know those small little birds that roost on Luke’s Island of Ahch-To?
Hate those damn things. Totally unnecessary addition to the movie. What purpose did they serve in the movie, other than food for Chewy?
They were probably a marketing afterthought for younger kids when they discovered Puffins on Skellig island in Ireland where part of the movie was filmed.
Well, the guy who did Jar Jars voice is a great voice actor but did that serve the movie? It doesn't matter how good the actor is if his character sucks. I think it's very likely indeed he's not supposed to be a one dimensional evil villain but do we really care about Ren returning to the good side or something after what he did at the end of episode 7? As a Solo fan I would expect not. He's a sack of shit since that and no matter how multi faceted he may get he remains a lame unconvincing leader of the first order.
LOLz, you say his character is a sac of shit for what he did, but you try and say its not working as an actor. I think its working, and not just on you And again, him being a convincing leader of the first order, I dont think thats going to be the point I had problems with the middle of this move, abandon ship and escape on transports felt more like a star trek episode rather than a star wars movie. But the first and last thirds of this movie, exactly where it should be going, threw out a lot of the old rules, I dont expect a simplified does Ren turn good or zRey turn bad, its already been done enough in star wars. Also felt like this movie was setting up another 4 movies not just one more, they would be stupid to only do one more if they keep raking in $2 billion
Lol Because I'm explaining how his character doesn't work at all? I'm also not expecting him to turn good again. That would be too cliché indeed. But, as pointed out before, his whole premise is already too easy. So with that in mind no cliché plottwist will suprise me again in his regard actually... Its every facet of him: the characters general premise, the miscast actor AND the idea he's both not convincing enough to be the leader of the first order, but neither sympathetic enough to care about any direction he might go in. So to be fair and put all nonsense aside: even Hayden Christensen was more convincing
Because he was a proper evil villain. Nobody cared for his parents (mom) either. Well, maybe they did a little after the prequels came out but not like we like Rens parents naturally.
You might be right it was a misdirect; "They were filthy junk traders,” “Sold you off for drinking money. They’re dead in a pauper’s grave in the Jakku desert. You come from nothing. You’re nothing. But not to me.”
That would be horribly cheesy. The new main antagonist is the offspring of Vader through Leia, the new main protagonist should be the offspring of Obi Wan? Come on. No need for that at all. I would not be suprised or displeased if one of her close ancestors was a jedi or at least also strong in the force (a sith could be even more fun and interesting imo), but not Obi Wan.
How do you all think they will deal with Leia? I think she will be explained dead in the crawl at the beginning. They should have reshot her scenes and had her die before she became Mary Poppins.
