Spitting on Vietnam Soldiers

For NO reason am I against the soldiers as a unit.
I support the risk they are taking to keep the people of Amerika safe.
I do NOT support the war though.
That is all I have to say here.
You can start flamming me now.

 

If you believe that the risk the soldiers are taking is to keep America safe, then you support the war. The fact is that they are not taking a risk to keep America safe, but a risk to make our President rich.

 

Just how are they keeping America safe? We were not invaded or attacked. There were no threats against America when they invaded Afghanistan and Iran (of all nations!). None at all.

If you support the troops, you support the war and the killing and the raping and everything that they do. They volunteered, this isn't Vietnam.

The soldiers are nothing but murderers in uniform.

good point..whats the point of only using force when we are attacked then being in war to begin with? regardless you are killing people..maybe he thinks we should just lay down and die on our own land if we were attacked..a lot of people in life only are concerned when something directly effects them...what they fail to understand is that every breath breathed effects the smallest or things.

Do you really think all the soldiers are out there screaming "Let's go kick some A-rab butt!!" Many if not most either joined before 9/11 or are being called back into active duty.

And to say that they're not doing anything to protect our freedom is also naive. Whatever connection Afghanistan and Iraq may have had with terrorist organizations, we've sent a clear message to all the world governments that if you harbor terrorists we will take you down. I don't believe that justifies all we've done, but it's something.

I have no sympathy for war criminals, but don't lump them into the same category as the regular GIs who are just trying to survive their tour of duty.

 

umm...where did he think they would need a medic in time of war? Doesn't it still follow logic that you might get involved in fighting if you join the military, especially with a freaking republican at the helm? I'm sorry he's overseas, I'm sorry he joined the military of his own volition when theres no draft...I'm sorry theres a war going on, especially one the size of this grand stupidity.

Here's a few facts about the present war, the USA helped put that asshole in power, the other arab leaders wanted him gone too but didn't want to be seen as U.S,'s puppets and loose face, they were also concerned they might be next and didn't want to have their heads on the chooping block next. Had we any kinda REAL international diplomacy policies in place we could probably had him outta there thru other channels by now without a war

Also, back to the original thing. This war isn't anything like Nam. We never had an experience during wartime that could have prepared us for it. We were stupid as shit to get involved in fighting that has been going on there years and years before our involvement. The kind of warfare that was waged over there was/is nothing like anything we have ever been involved with

 

AS THE POSTER above you just said..some are being called back to active duty..well..thats what happened to him..so basically it wasn't his choice...and if he were a misonary in a world of war being medic it would be all good right? i never compared the two wars either so i don't see why you keep acting like i have. just cause you are older and may have experienced more in life, it dosnt make you or your choices any better then the next person. you are still human, you make mistakes, you are not perfect, so who are you to judge anyone on their choices?

I'm so sorry, his post wasn't there when I was posting. Still doesn't change the fact there is no draft going on and hasn't been for years. Hard to read what ain't there. Alot of people keep lumping the two wars together like they are the same thing, never said you were doing it, as there are alot of other people posting as well. Did I ever state my opinion or choices were always right and the only right ones? I think not. All I have stated is my opinion and I had also stated that I had wished that some of the people posting were better informed before bashing the vets (I've stated my personal opinion plainly already) At least I haven't suggested as you have that people that don't tow my line of thinking should die as you did. I also stated I didn't disrespect the men that went to war in Vietnam. I haven't in this one either for that matter and as a matter of fact I'm glad that there has been plenty of guys that joined on up because it keeps any need for draft down and away from my son who knows enough to seek employment elsewhere.

 

yes i did say die but i was just pissed..i take it back. do you not get it thta the reason there isn't a "draft" as you are thinking is because they are calling older soliders back to active duty..which in a sense is a fucking draft....thereason my boyfriend joined the army ten years ago is cause he was so fucked up on drugs and all brainwashed by the "hippies of today" that is life was nothing..he had to do something to straighten it up..your last coment about your son being able to find employment is saying all soilders are stupid..and becuase of that comment you are a dumb fucking ****. and i mean that..call me ignorant as you please..i dont' care..i'm through with this..

No it is not. Me, you, and all other Americans have lost more freedoms during this war... something the soldiers had no part in.

Afghanistan was invaded because of supposed terrorist connections... the Iraqi government was not connected to Bin Laden in anyway, the supposed "mastermind" of the 9/11 attacks.

Anybody who kills anybody, unless it is self defense, is a murderer. Invading another country who did absolutely nothing to our country is NOT self defense. They are murderers.
