Spiders freak me out. I usually get them with the vacuum cleaner because they can be hard to catch or squash with a book.

I do genuinely feel bad about it tho.
I do catch mice with live traps and relocate them into somebody else's house.

I caught a mouse in my dust buster, screamed like a little girl, released it out in the yard and threw my cat on it. End of mouse.

I have to admit that I get my boyfriend to kill any spider in the house... I am too terrified of them to even get close enough to kill them. I feel bad about it, but they are the only thing I have a true phobia about.

Anything like an insect though I just leave be, they don't bother me at all.

Luckily my cat also eats a lot of spiders which is nice, she also eats the giant rats in the house which is nice as well.

yeah, i kill them too. but if they eat other bugs they must be good? or maybe their just a disease ridden creepy crawly that eats other bad for your health bugs? i'll be honest, the only reason i kill those ugly things is just that, cause they're ugly, scarry and make my skin crawl. i feel like a coward.

i was a janitor at college many moons ago. i use to eat my lunch on the president of the college's desk at three in the morning. "cleaning"(lol, i was a lousy janitor)his office was one of my duties on the graveyard shift. i use to look at his memos, spill coffee on some, and just throw them out so i wouldn't get in trouble. i guess he never missed em cause i never got feedback from my boss. on night at lunch, having desert, i pulled a book out of his little library in his office. it was about insects in general. the chapter on arachnids(or however its spelled, it means spiders, whatever). it said that even the most poisonious like the black widow, brown recluse, tarantulas(but they have huge fangs and hurt like hell i am told) etc will only make you very ill but not dead if they bite your ass(or anywhere else on your self). only kids or old people died.

i felt bad after reading this and during the act of slowly killing a huge wolf spider. i live in the n east usa. these things are big, but not poisonous. by killing slowly i mean i used insect killer on it. i promised myself if i was ever going to kill a critter again it would be fast, like stomping on them.

like mice for instance. people's sensibilities make them feel awful about using the quick skull crushing old fashioned mouse trap. yet they buy these mouse poison sticky slabs, the mice get their feet stuck in for good. like the mice scream for hours and it takes that long for them to die. so if its out sight(but not out of hearing, go figure) and its not messy, people think its more humane, go figure.

I go under my kitchen sink and find the most toxic looking chemical cleaner and get the spiders from a distance.

Much more satisfying than just stepping on them.

When Sarah was in Central America, she took a pic of this thing hanging out in her kitchen. It wasn't bothering anyone, so they left it alone. :)

Made a bit of a tit of yourself there to be honest. :p
(that was in relation to moondrizzles post...he said live traps )

I used to be terrified of spiders when I was younger but when I was 10 I saw a massive spider...fucking huge, on our outside wall. Showed my dad because it was so big and he said he would give me (Irish punts)£20 to let it crawl over my hand. He let it crawl all over him but I was scared to fuck. No way was that happening...although £20 was pretty tempting and it was moving really slowly so I let my dad put it in my hand...that was after a good half hour of convincing though. Ever since then Ive been fine with them :)

Never killed them thougheven when I didnt like them. Weve always had a "spider glass" in our house to catch spiders in to put them outside. Although if one gets settled enough to build a web I usually just leave em be, not going to evict them once theyve set up shop an that.
