Should Troops (not just US troops) be in Iraq? Another thread entirely. I'm not talking about the validity or necessity of the troops being there. I'm talking about how McCain (and for that matter Bush) is seemingly being perceived in comparison to Obama. I thought that was clear from the segment of your post I quoted. It sounds as if your not too keen on any military conflict? It sounds as if you'd rather there was no military or they should be stationed on American soil and that's about it.
In all fairness, McCain got a really shitty deal, I mean imagine running on the Republican ticket after the Bush administration, what a joke. Military conflict can be justified, but the Bush Administration's policy of preemptive strike was downright criminal. Our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are a farce. No one has benefited except Bush's buddies the military contractors who have been paid billions and have done nothing.
You have stated my exact position. Yankee go home. Is that clear, or can I somehow make it even clearer?
I thought it was really gracious and cool when McCain said that, especially in the face of his supporters who were acting like idiots.
I have to agree there. Everyone associated McCain with Bush, and solely voted against him for that. Granted, I protested against him when he came to my town, and I voted Obama, but I can clearly see the raw deal he got.
