how about thinking of the amount of earth's diameters it takes to equal that of the sun's. and that at the same time think that the sun is a relatively small star.

ive seen a few really awesome meteoroids. like ones that last more than a split second and you can actually see the different flame colors. both times i saw them clearly they burnt greenish blue with a yellow/red flame really close to the actual particle

once i saw a glimpse of a real blue one though

einstein stated that space and time are a net, one which we rest on and warp due to mass. it would be impossible to suddenly "drop" - for one thing M/string theory says that gravity is like a hook to the dimensional plane we exist on, so if it were to be pulled "down" by any gravity it would be potentionally from a different dimension. whether through black hole or literally by being ripped through planar membranes. even with einstein's theories you would be falling through space time that is undistorted (yet) by earth's mass. so if it were to "drop" it would cause ripples through space-time fabric and be like a domino effect taking place over many lightyears because the effects of gravity are (supposedly) slower than light.

not only that but earth's own gravity would become more directional if it "fell" (like it would pull harder on one end of the globe than the other) and would probably start spinning on a different axis - or none at all.

stars would pretty instantly (maybe a few hours) start showing a change in position in the sky. the sun would most definitely become infinitely smaller VERY quickly. noticable almost immediately once entered freefall...it all would also depend on how strong this outside gravity is, as well...

there really is no other way the earth could "fall" without outside gravity anyways on a bisecting plane...from what i understand gravity is also kind of "stuck" to each planar membrane

    or am i high?
