societal trends today that will be looked back on as strange decades from now

    Probably much of what we do now would be viewed that way decades from now. If you consider the gains in technology in the last three decades most from that era are obsolete more than once over now.

    We may be considered dinosaurs. :)

    As far as trends, they are just that. We will probably go the way of the flappers.... :)

    The rise of nationalism in the U.S. in the years after the 9/11 incident and all the political and ideological support for the pro-war policies (yellow ribbons on cars, God Bless America tune, mainstream media in bed with the White House). It seems strange looking back on it even now.
