I never claimed the private sector always delivered perfect goods and services. However, if a private company consistently fails to deliver quality services, the customers will go elsewhere. And if a private company keeps a staff of people who sit around and do hardly anything all day, like my friend at FEMA, they'll lose lots of money. Poor management can hurt a private company a lot harder than it hurts the government sector; it can cause a company to lose clients to competitors, or put them out of business. The government just taxes more and more and basically never runs out. Further, if a private sector employee mismanages his duties enough times, he'll hurt the company a lot more than a government employee who mismanages enough times. And, government employees are very difficult to fire. I don't know about you, but I get fucking sick and tired of hearing about cops shooting innocent people and getting paid leave as a maximum punishment. In private security, if an officer draws his weapon without a reasonable cause, that alone will get him fired.

So yeah, the government can afford to be inept and provide shit services without facing the same consequences as a private sector. That is because the government is a monopoly

Believe what you want. You might check it out by visiting some of the residents of that nursing home in Washington where so many of the deaths were reported--if they're letting people in now.

My neighbour was in Portland not long ago, visiting their daughter, when they came back they were self quarantined, the wife was sick, they didn’t come out to shovel, or anything. They never said they had it, but I wonder. She seems to have aged quickly since being sick.
