how much has the government given to the UN this year? The UN is socialist. Why would a republican government give to such an organization, if they are opposed to helping? Should that money be reserved for their own tax payers? To help them? Should the government give tax breaks to businesses that support them and the people they employ? Looks like that 1000 dollars will go through, no? Do governments need to help others or their own from within first? Stop thinking about a broad scale that is unattainable. The circle becomes smaller when a crisis happens. It comes down to you. Reality comes in to play.
Reading other people’s perceptions on here has allowed me to see things in a different light. Since I came on here 10 years ago, my own perceptions have undergone some changes. I’ve been able to find where compromises can be made. Sometimes seeing the kinds of rotten views my opposition shares on here reinforces my perception of them.
Oh FFS !!! - The United Nations is like a club, EVERY country pays a subscription into it in order to belong to the international community !!!
it is a socialist regime looking to control population and take money while grandstanding. I want that regime gone, put out with the trash. They are an organization that answers to no one.
I don't know. Maybe you can quote something and show us all how much the government gives to the UN. I am a Democrat living in the US and always have been. I would however speculate that a republican government strategy would be to under-fund the UN, hoping to save some money and keep the government from taking over the world so to speak. And to keep things more domestic. Which money? The UN money should in my opinion be part of the total annual budget, not instead reserved for domestic-only policy. Indeed... to businesses that support the government? Maybe. But I think that would be sort of bias at this point with the circumstances of the coronavirus. After all it's effecting everyone, not just corporations that donate to republican interests. Yeah. I read this morning the House is proposing $1,500 instead of $1,200 to individuals. Most individuals*. I think the first priority has to be domestic, but we have social responsibility to consider the global needs of everybody. To not consider global well-being would be intolerant or selfish. Not sure which... Please. I think that the UN is brilliant.
No, we don’t sort of have a “democratic socialist government. Nor do we have a free market government. Our current system is described best as a mixed market corporatocracy; where there is a revolving door between the politicians and corporate tycoons. Large corporations buy the politicians, and the politicians weaponized regulations in the favor of their corporate sponsors. Like Beach Ball says, socialism plays favorites. And people who disagree with socialist regimes have historically been silenced, put on watch lists, put in prison, etc.
well the USA, the UN is fucking you over, telling the USA they own the UN 600 million dollars. It was paid. That is 22 percent of their total budget. That isn’t all you are forced to pay. There is separate bills for peace keeping missions which you pay an even greater % for. who do you want that 600 million to go to? There was more paid, but that is the dues. What do you want that money spent on? The watchdog of the world needs a watchdog.
So explain Guantanamo and the US insistence on wanting to prosecute Julain Assange ??? to name but two instance amid a whole host of others that have been 'silenced' by right wing, some time neo fascist governments ???
yes it is. Do you even know who the top people in the UN are? What they represent? Clearly not. head honcho is Antonio Guterres - socialist, a man obama referred to in glowing terms. And there are 6 top positions. I am not going to feed you all the info and hope you look into it for yourself.
you are a single person. Do yo speak for all here? What a pointless comment to make, hence, making it pointless. More to address that your pointless comments. Maybe if had something legit to say, unlike many in this thread. simply because you say so, it doesn't make it true, but drones will agree with you.
This diagram was on Vox. It's talking about the checks... Apparently, they're no longer talking about depriving low-income/non-filer individuals or families of part of their $1,200. The money phases-out but doesn't phase-in. The likely $1,200 coronavirus checks, explained
I don’t think you guys do at all. It is a political and economic theory. It is a social organization. It advocates for production and means of distribution. And the exchange should be regulated and distributed by the community as a whole. That is the UN! Run by a socialist regime. It is what Canada is as well. The problem is that one holds the power regarding distribution. That being the governing body. They, like in Canada sells off the resources to where ever, let’s those resources be foreign owned without consulting the people.
That evil witch Thatcher (phth, phth, phth) did that in the UK and you cou;ld hardly call her a socialist !!!
