My gradeschool didnt tell us anything. All they said was that we werent allowed to go outside for recess.
I was at home, in France at the time, reading in my room (can't remember what book though!! weird...) when my sister came in and shouted "you gotta come watch this on TV, you won't believe it, you know the Twin Towers in New York??......"
i was in a shop class for my industrial design course sophomore year of college in ann arbor mich, and the older guy who was the shop director was giving us a run-down of equipment and its use.. he'd go into his little office for a moment, came out and said... you know, a plane has hit a building in new york. you could tell he was deep in thought, he knew something was going down, he could sense it then he updated us that another plane had hit.. and talked about vietnam and said we should get out of there, go home, he can't teach no more today
it was my day off from work, so I slept in...... two people ended up calling me about at the same time....... my dad and my girlfriend at the time, both told me to turn on the tv, so I did, and I saw a plane hit the tower... I didnt grasp what was going on at that moment..... it was odd though, because I had the day planned around going to lawrence ks to find an apt...... which I still did, it was strange to see every gas station filled up with cars and cars going down the street just waiting to get into the gas station to pump gas....... I thought people were nuts.
strangely enough, I was doing some work at a funeral home/crematorium the way the employees were talking it was the beginning of the end of the world...... I was living in OKC when the federal bldg was bombed and saw that mess, and still cannot fathom the complete magnitude of the twin towers going down
