Now here is a question that always irks me. "Where are you from?" I'm going to tell you why it irks me. So, are you asking where a person currently lives or are you asking where a person used to live, where they came from? That question is good at bars and parties, where you already know where the person is but you want to know where the person came from or used to live or where they grew up. In this case, the OP wants to know where everyone lives, right? So, the correct question would be either "Where are you living right now?" or simply "Where do you live?". Right? So in this forum, when someone says "I'm from Springfield Mo." they are actually telling you where they live at the moment, not where they used to live. Right? Whew! In my case, I can say I'm from the East Coast because I moved to California in 1977. I am not from Lucerne, California... I live in Lucerne California. In addition, I could also tell you all the names of the cities and states I used to live in and then you would know where I am from. So, now you know why that "Where are you from" question irks me so.
