This is my problem. If you watch the part of the interview where he explains why he wants to do reggae music, he explains that really well, and it sounds sincere. Plus I tend to think of Snoop as a pretty good guy, not that I've ever met him, that's just the way he comes off I guess. I just have a hard time hating on him.
I have the feeling most people base their opinion here on the article and not on the interview the article seems to be based on. Not that I dismiss the probability that he's doing it for insincere reasons but I agree, I have the feeling he means his reasons to make a reggae album. That most people now focus on the Bob Marley reincarnation is the fault of the article in the OP I guess.
This was my exact first thought as well. Although, reggae isn't the most popular genre of music, even though more and more people are listening to it now. But it still doesn't really make sense for it to be a thing about money. I'm just glad he didn't try and make a rock album like all the other rappers
