i just cant see the music in what they create. it just appears to be rhythmless jumble of wild pounding on drums and guitar parts where there seem to be no basis or melody. As far as lyrics go, I cannot glean any words from the indistinguishable screaming.
They are without doubt the LEAST TALENTED BAND POSSIBLE. Very boring unintersting riffs, a gay vocalist, their lyrics are REALLY stupid, the whole gay 'angry teen' thing is just so gay. ANd they're too commercial aswell. And overrated. Even WORSE then this band; is the average fan. Most people must know what I mean.
they are great live. I think some people misunderstand the sound. "Surfacing" is a great track mixing drum and bass with metal. Its easy to knock a band when they become popular. Least talented band ever?????? Does anyone remember uncle cracker, OPM, American Hi-Fi, Alien Ant Farm, Green Jelly etc. Surely these bands are worse.
Whats with all the Slipknot bashing? Holy Shit. They are a very good band. Some ppl may disagree and they can if they want. I can understand why they wear masks. It adds to the performance, plus they can got to the store without having to talk to psycho fans. And there's no way in hell that 3 or 4 guys could do what they do. four guys couldn't play all the instruments that they play. If all you hear is screaming, maybe take the time to listen to the words. Their lyrics are not meaningless either. At their website it has all of the meanings of the songs if you want to look. Corey Taylor has a very good voice actually. Listen to the song Circle and Danger-Keep Away. If all you have heard is their new album maybe try listening to their self titled album. It is a lot harder and better. Joey Jordison I could agree is one of the best drumers in the world. I'm not gonna say THE best but he is very good. Also their composure of songs is very good. Listen to The Blister Exists. It is put together so well. Definitley one of their best. And if you think only thirteen year olds listen to em look at the countless number of adults that go to see them every year. They put on the best concert I have ever seen. I'm sorry if you dont like them but they are definitely my favorite band.
MFKR was alright...but after that was just straight shitknot...their sad attempt at Satanism powered lyrics(If your 5-5-5 im 6-6-6)...and their guitar is is worse than most punk bands... Whoever said Joey was the best drummer ever is full of shit...he isnt even the best metal drummer...David Hirschheimerhas(old Cradle), Adrian Erlandsson(New Cradle), Nick Barker(REALLY old Dimmu), Travis Barker(Transplants), and Jan Axel Von Blomberg(Hellhammer) anyone? all these drummers could school Joey... Slipknot isnt metal anyway...

Nicholas Barker didn't even play on the OLD Dimmu records... that was Tjodalv. In fact, it was Barker who played on the OLD Cradle records. Yeah, Richard Christy is pretty damn good.
anger has been overdone but i still think their lead singer (corey taylor) has an awesome singing voice, when he bothers to sing that is, but yeah, i like slipknot

Thats part of being a sellout band though...after MFKR they sold out...and i can say that about 30(more im sure) other bands too...like Cradle is a sellout now and so is manson...its just that this topic is about SlipKnot... Its all about opinion really...because i realy do think they suck(and that they arnt metal)...but YOUR opinion differs from mine....that tends to happen from time to time, you know what i mean? ^_^
I think slipknot is great, but i hate vol 3 so god damn much! Its a great album, but i think they shouldn't be allowed to release it^^ Because now everyone listens to them.. I hated slipknot fans so much, that i started hating the band.. Like for instance, a girl i talked to said that she loved slipknot and they were the best band ever and joey jordison was the best drummer ever, corey the best singer, and Mick (which she didnt know his full name) was the best and fastest guitarplayer ever. She said, with other words, that she was the biggest fan ever. So i asked her how he felt about Stone Sour (before come whatever may, when they wasn't as famous as now), and she was like "what!?.. who are they?".. I just looked at her and said you gotta be kidding me. Then i walked away. A week later Daron from SOAD was the best guitarplayer and so on. Thats why i hated slipknot^^ Well anyways, PunkRocker: MM hasnt sold himself out as much as the others.. I think he's more exprimental then sellout. But i don't know..^^ But Cradle.. Now thats sellout.. Just look at thornography.. After i heard one of the songs from that album i started hating them (oh yes i hate alot.. spiders, clowns and so on ).. OnT: I like that theyre gonna record a new album this fall.. According to Joey it will be the heaviest, most progressive album yet.. But who knows. To end this: I like slipknot but i hate their (new) fans.. god.. i hate them so much.. GAH!
STAY FUCKING (SIC) MAGGOTS!! Seen em twice and they rocked both times, now Corey's voice is almost completely deteriorated, but I would still go see them live...the best live shows ever, period. Moshing, crazy fans, lots of injuries, free ganja from metalheads all around, what the fuck more could you ask for??? The first time I saw them was at Arrow Hall in Toronto in January 2005. That was a fucking kickass show (also my first metal show ever, so I got beaten up senseless (a few knees to my face cuz i got knocked down right into the middle of the pit). The second time was at the Air Canada Centre in October 2005 was the best fucking metal show I have ever been to, despite the fact that Jim wasn't able to play due to a fractured wrist. They put on a kick-ass show, and when Surfacing came on the crowd went fucking WILD! Spit it out was fucking sick as usual (GET THE FUCK DOWN ON THE FLOOR!)...and the whole floor turned into one giant moshpit after he told us to JUMP THE FUCK UP! I have been to many concerts since then (Roger Waters, TooL, Megadeth...) but nothing still beats SLIPKNOT's live performance especially on October 25th, 2005...the best fucking metal show of all time! STAY (SIC)!
