Exactly. also your microphone. No warrants needed anymore. Oh, we're just "checkin' on something" is probably enough probable cause.

Skype's denials are meaningless. All big tech companies now sign contracts with the Feds and as part of the contract they cannot discuss or admit to the level of surveillance granted to the government.

Best thing to do Skip is get a mike with a switch ON THE MIKE ITSELF,then you can turn it off @ your end so nothing can be heard anyway...

wouldnt take much software to turn your speaker system into a microphone. turn the mic off all you want. its just a speaker in reverse..

Yeah, I got all pissed off at my roommate (the Zodiac Killer) when he fucked with my sennheiser headphones and turned them into a mike for his guitar...

On my computer, I just covered up the mic hole with a thick piece of paper. I'm not sure how easy it would be for someone to remotely reconfigure speakers to a microphone, as usually you have to reverse the input line, and of course you'd notice if they did.

lol... pretty much impossible to turn speakers into a mic without access into your
home. And like Piney said, If you're that worried about it go all Gambino and get rid of all your shit lol

I flipped off my camera, and flashed it. Just in case.

This is the last thing i wanted to hear... I've been so paranoid about this stuff lately, deleting all my accounts on everything, trying to remove everything i have on the internet, there's barely any privacy anymore...i used to love technology so much and thought it was great, but now i don't trust it in the least... the only thing i have left is my hipforums account, but i'm sure the government could easily track me or anyone else down on here if they really wanted too lol

I actually do that all the time :D If i'm in a room and feel as if there's a chance there could be cameras, i just start flipping off the place to let the person watching know that i know... even though i really don't know at all.

I dunno I think it's shitty and not worth it I really would rather the drug cartels go about their business than have my life spied on

I doubt it's even really about the drug cartels... sure they might be doing that too, but this is probably just another way for the government to keep track of us and keep us 'under control'

is it because you have massive fingers that you need that massive phone?:)

lets put this into perspective....how many coppers do you think the popo forces have to spare atm to monitor the toal number of calls...they didnt say ''drug dealer'' or ''drug users''...they said drug lords...pretty sure none here is a druglord...i personally stopped being a drug lord back in high school...

yes they can monitor certain high profile people but fb is far more dangerous to the common man/woman

When the government says they're doing something to "protect you." You can bet your life, that they're about to take away more Liberty.

You're wrong. People are private beings. No one wants the government watching them.. That isn't paranoid, that's patriotism and respect for the US constitution. You are too trusting of our government.
