I think someone on the politics forum posted a youtube video of a high ranking member of the "KKK" basically threatening or predicting an attack on Obama (something along those lines can't remember exactly)..He was wearing this purple shiny robe, it was quite hilarious actually..Racists can be quite amusing sometimes.

i just don't want anyone killing my president. i don't care which one it is. my people, my country, participated in an election of a person and that makes him ours, whether one voted for him or not. somone or some people getting it in their head to kill him to get around all the rest of us pisses me right off.

no. naive, maybe, but not bad. i can't attest on the voting machines, media machine, etc. but until there's a better system, just killing off a guy because you don't like him or didn't vote for him, doesn't seem right at all.

 

I am not going to use some footnote of a state like Idaho to measure race relations in a nation of 350 million

Also I am not going to use a state that has no races aside from WASP white to measure anything at all

we actually agree on that fundamental exactly, you moralist. i just made the same argument. but the problem with "systemic bias" is that the system isn't viewing people as individuals. nor are those individuals within the system WILLING to stand as individuals. by treating people as faceless masses and alowing ourselves to be absorbed into a faceless mass we do more to continue the problem than change it. if that one cog in the wheel would take the personal responsibility that's within his person grasp to change, we'd have at least one weak link in a very long chain. but most people aren't raised to do that, in fact, we get bludgeoned about the head for it.

mamaKCita, I know you dont believe that your vote or mine actually counts for who gets elected? Its done via electorial vote from the representatives we have voted in. They only take our vote into consideration not a vote of actuallality. Its merely a game we play every 4 years to give us a false sense of pride and hope but really the only vote we have that might count is removing lower level goverment officials that control our outcomes. Besides our president is nothing more than a yes man, his power is pretty much bs just a killer title is all.
