Well, I don't have any pets at the moment but I just spent a couple weeks in Missouri watching my sister's Chihuahua, Nala while she was away. Nala is typically Chihuahua and goes ballistic when she sees squirrels, rabbits or groundhogs in her back yard. When Nala goes to bed at nite she puts her little blanket over herself. This was in April and it got cold one night. Nala said to hell with the blanket and got under the cusion.
Here is my dog Lucius. He's an English Mastiff, got him when he was 2 months old. From a breeder of English Mastiffs in Bucks County who is a good friend of mine. Never owned one before, but I have to say I love the breed now. Love the history of the Mastiff and it's look. I've been around quite a few dogs in my lifetime, but he's the coolest dog I've ever encountered. Really laid back and goofy most times. Love's his short hikes in the wilderness though, and loves to swim. Has an excellent sense of smell as well, which I was really surprised about. He's kind of overprotective, he doesn't really like strangers or strange dogs. But he has a good heart. He's now 2 years old weighing in now at 185 lbs, more wrinkles, and a lot more drool... I'll take some pictures of him nowadays when I get the chance. Here's 2 of my favorites from him when he was younger, one is a weird looking at night, and another is him sacking out after a really long hike on a nice trail near me. I think the first one was taken when he was 5 months and the second at 10. Cheers! View attachment 47252 View attachment 47253
I bet Noodles would be highly aggravated if he knew you were showing that (cutest of all) pic, chrissie... and Mothman, I do have to say...it's like you said (lol) ewww
Hey, I may ewww that (I don't even know what it is...not an arachnid, I know); but whatever pet you want and take care of, I don't want ya' to feel bad. Besides, wouldn't you be scared he'd bite you? or something? I'd probably be scared he'd bite me, then crawl in my ear.
I dislike chihuahuas but I have to admit that little dog putting the blanket over herself is pretty cute
here's a few photos of my dog, Sophie. she's a 10 year old Bichon and I absolutely love her to death. this is what she looks like before we get her shaved in the summer; and a few from the last few weeks! she does kinda look like a Chiahuahua with that haircut, I think. and my horse! she's a 4 year old quarter horse mare. technically not mine, I lease her out, but I'm the only one aloud to ride her since I pay her bills, lol.
this is my pet mouse : i adore him =) unfortunately, i have recently discovered that he has a tumor under his tiny little arm (sadly tumors are pretty common for mice)
Sorry for your loss. Mice only live about 3 years - just enuf time to get a personality and become familiar and then they are gone. My mouse "Snakepoop" on a brain coral in space. (Long gone)
Oh no, sorry to hear that Crayola. Never seen one that looked like that. Neat little mouse. Shale is right, they don't live long. That's why I stopped keeping rats as pets. They are great pets if you spend a little time handling them everyday but it's not cool when they die. Shale you named the little guy Snakepoop? Snakepoop went to space? Man that mouse has accomplished more than me. I feel like a loser
Thank u. yea they don't live long. sadly my mouse only lived for 1.5yr. He was my first pet mouse, but i'm definitely gonna have others, cuz yea they're awesome pets. (otherwise i love cats, but my place is way too small for me to have a cat here!) Your mouse was cute ! i love bews. Thank u. Don't rats live longer than mice though? And haha, Snakepoop was the Han Solo of mice.
Yeah, he was my model for a few pics back when I was into film fotografy. I should scan the one showing a bit his of his individuality. He had a little porch made out of PVC pipe that he would sleep on, head hanging over one side and tail curved over the other. I called him Snakepoop, acknowledging the reality of why they keep mice in pet shops. Made me feel better about keeping the little guy in a cage. He had a good life.
@ Crayola, nah sadly rats live about 3 years also. Sometimes 2. One small step for man...lots of tiny mouse sized steps for Snakepoop. @Shale that sounds cool, he was like stewart little 's more accomplished cousin with his own tiny house and personal photographer. Sounds like he had a great life with you Shale.
