no banning puns. anything that pisses you off just by making you either smirk, grimace or chuckle unwillingly is good for you.

As a baker I take grate ovens at the use of these pernicious puns to punch down your points.

Why do you ppl feel the knead to fragrantly deepfry every crumb?

Must I rise to the heat of the moment by offering you proof of my fermentations? I suppose it's the yeast I can do...

Maybe if I butter you up with some toasted puns, you'll feel warm enough to send us some dough to keep the forum fires toked. ;)

Shameless, a hit TV show from the UK that is now in it's 8th series, is no stranger to the pun, or the parody. The latest episode on now is doing a parody of One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, they just did the scene where they are all sitting round and the nurse asks Frank (Jack) why he thinks he is in the mental hospital LOLZ

They are currently making a US version of this, which I suppose you could say is a parody of a show that a parody of lots of other shows.

You see, everything is just a parody of everything else, at the end of the day.

    I'm really clever.

Now can you say that more punnily?

Shameless just premiered here last Sunday. Looks like a great show. Interesting casting and script for the US version. I've never seen the UK version. Not on the BBC I take it, or channel 4 or what?

Channel 4. It's really edgy. You'll probably get the watered down version over there. I can't imagine how it would translate into an American version..

Might have to scutter around for the US version out of curiosity.

You can see the whole pilot episode (that's all they've shown so far on TV) here:
    http://www.sho.com/site/order/preview.do#/Shameless_s01_e01

I hope you can see it cause if they see you're in the UK, they may not play it. Try using a fast US proxy if that's the case.

I'm curious to how it measures up to the UK version. Yes, it's very edgy for the US, that's why it's on showtime (pay tv only).

For those who don't know about it, the show stars Bill Macy (Fargo) as the father who's a drunkard and overall asshole. There's like six kids who all have to take care of themselves and seem to have it together. But the story revolves around how the entire family are "shameless" and will do things without regard as to what other ppl think.

It's an excellent premise for a show. The acting is way above par, but I've come to expect that from Showtime which has one hit series after another.

Check out these other great Showtime hits on that page above:

    Weeds
    Dexter
    The United States of Tara
    Nurse Jackie
Californication (I don't like this one)
    The Big C

I sure hope Shameless lives up to its hype. They've been advertising it incessantly for the past 5 months!

They didn't do a bad job of the US version of The Office... I have hopes for the american version of Shameless. If I am honest I don't really like the UK version of Shameless that much. I'd rather watch a Ken Loach film, more intelligent. But Shamelss is fun, and accurate.

I like Bill Macy, I remember his part in Magnolia moved me a little. Like the part he is playing he seems rough around the edges, but inside he has a kind heart. I think he is suited to the US version of the part.

Other than that it's very gritty and violent, although they seem to have toned down the violence a touch and replaced it with movie glamour.

I like Dexter, fan of Michael H ball from Six Feet Under Days (ie. That's My Dog) and I've seen a few episodes of Californication and liked them although haven't looked further yet. i have a milf crush on Davina McCall.

Some people are so happy being sheep, that they toss every single person's rights out the window, as long as it doesn't effect them.

Although some may feel it is okay to change artists works, because a certain amount of time has passed and yet feel that making copies of it without changing it is... doesn't make it right.

These are the same people who sat back and watched as black people were kidnapped, beaten, tortured and killed in order to supply slave labor to make them rich while claiming it wasn't their fault because they didn't pick up a whip personally.
