Should circumcision without consent be illegal?

Circumcision is literally the most pointless thing to ever care about

 

For me this is one of those intractable questions. For instance, I see the point that amputating a body part without consent raises questions. I am not sure that it is surgery most adult men would find difficult - for both mental and physical reasons. So all around this would create fewer circumsised penises.

But on the other side, I am still a girl. And I only really like the neatly trimmed ones. And it's generally not a fact that you know until you are down there. When I find the beautiful smooth phallus I had in my head when I decided to cross that hurdle with a man I meet, I guess I unconsciously thank his parents for the decision and his doctor or rabbi for performing.

That's why its such a tough question. Two really good arguments.

That's why I think that we ought to let the parents argue it out. I'm not a guy, but and government rule about how much of your penis they can cut off without asking when you are born is set up for disaster over the long run.

Ixnay on the ircumcisioncay. It's mutilation. Watch a baby get circumcised, in real life not on youtube, and you may change your mind. It's awful.

I much prefer sex with uncircumcised men, well really I prefer sex with women, but just as long as NOBODY is circumcised.

It is a valid belief to look at it that way, but comparing male circumcision to female circumcision just hinders the cause for people who are against both.

 

Why is that? Is the concept that both are wrong too much for you to hold in your mind at once?

Yea but it's like taking money out of your best friend's wallet wrong vs shooting someone wrong. Things are a different level of wrong, hence why we don't send everyone to prison for 10 years for every single crime. Male circumcision can have some health benefits and people who are circumcised lead very healthy and enjoyable sex lives. The only purpose of cutting off a clitoris(and sometimes sewing up the vagina) is to completely deprive the woman of sexual pleasure and often the ability to orgasm to ensure her chastity and value when offering her in marriage.

 

circumcision should indeed be illegal and the punishment for the doctor, priest, rabbi should be severe. im not talking about being suspended or even fired im thinking prison time.

this procedure (Circumcision) is wrong in so many ways.
first reason: babies don get any anesthesia or pain killers.
doctors reasons for this "they wont remember the pain" this quote is from a pediatric surgeon i confronted. and anesthesia and or pain killers are to dangerous for infants.
second reason: according to us law children under 18 have limited medical rights. and any choice they make can be overturned by the parent. this means that parents can force there children to undergo any surgery the doctor might recommend.
third reason: the amount of pain (physical and mental) is incredible. my parents decided to wait until i was 2 or 3. ever since i have been plagued with nightmares.20 years of nightmares so far. i was awake through the procedure.
forth reason: there is no i repeat no proven medical benefit from this procedure. when i was able to pry my medical records from my doctor. no reason was listed for why this procedure was preformed on me.
fitth reason: this procedure is pureley cosmetic. the reason my parents gave me was "so you would me normal". what is normal? i dont want to be the same as everone else. why couldent i be left natral?

Circumcise babies' noses! All the muck they generate inside their nostrils. You know uncircumcised noses are a breeding ground for health problems and homosexuality. There is medical evidence for this! And it is even God's will for He loves you and He does not want to see you in heaven all covered in diseases like 'Chlamydia' and 'Gayorrhoea'. Studies show that these horrible conditions are caused by cheese-like substances inside a baby's nose!

In the name of God, circumcise all noses!

 

I find it arrogant of the human race to think that we know better than nature. We continue to alter natures design in ourselves and also animals, ie: the docking of dogs tails and cropping of ears. I think if you left it up to the owner of said bodypart, this practice would disappear. Except of course for the milder fashionable alterations, such as pierced ears, tongues and other things I won't elaborate on.
